When Bailey pushed open the door to the VIP room of the Aurelian Club and walked in, she saw Victoria wildly shaking her head to the beat of heavy metal music.
Laughter, a continuous and infectious sound, reverberated throughout the room.
Bailey's mouth twitched violently twice as the scene unfolded before her eyes.
Being a socialite from high society, Victoria would never allow herself to let loose like this, even when she was in a bad mood.
It appeared that today's incident had dealt her a significant blow.
Victoria was clearly still deeply in love with Lionel, yet she refused to admit it and even forced herself to move on.
Of course, Bailey was in no position to judge her actions. But then again, if Artemis and I were to harbor irreconcilable hatred, I might not handle the situation as well as Victoria does.
“Ms. Bailey, you've arrived,” the assistant greeted.
Bailey nodded with a smile and asked, “Was it your idea to bring her to the club to relax?”
The assistant pursed her lips, speaking somewhat uncomfortably. “D-Did I do something wrong? Mr. Saunders seemed to have gone mad when he arrived at the club earlier.”
Bailey reached out and patted her shoulder, offering comfort as she said, “You did well. If she had kept it inside, it could have caused problems. Leave this to me. You go back to the company first. I've received news that Lionel has gone to Saunders Group. You work with Mr. Saunders to handle the company's affairs.”
The assistant nodded. “All right. I'll be going now. Call me if you need anything.”
Bailey nodded in response.
After watching the assistant leave, Bailey walked over to the jukebox and turned off the heavy metal music.
As the upbeat music came to a halt, Victoria stopped dancing abruptly.
She slowly raised her head, frowning at Bailey. “Why did you turn it off? I'm not done dancing yet.”
Bailey strolled up to her, reaching out to grab her arm. “That thing is annoyingly loud.”
Victoria enveloped her like an octopus, wrapping her tightly in an embrace. “Drink with me then.”
“Sure.” Bailey's gaze swept across the bar counter, and all she saw were ordinary beers. “If we're going to splurge, let's go for something expensive, like Lafite or whiskey. Let's indulge in that feeling of burning money like men do.”
Victoria laughed heartily. “All right. I'll have them bring over some top-notch liquor worth tens of millions right away. We're not stopping until we're drunk tonight.”
Bailey hummed in acknowledgment.
Seeing that Bailey had agreed to have a drink with her, Victoria took large strides to the bar, picked up the internal phone, and dialed the front desk. She proceeded to order a variety of fine liquors.
Bailey could not help but grin. “Take a seat first. I'm going to the restroom.”
She had been holding her urge to urinate all the way here. After a few drinks, she feared it would become unbearable.
“All right. Come back soon!” Victoria said.
Bailey casually tossed her bag onto the sofa, then sauntered out of the private room.
As she walked toward the bathroom, she sent a message to Artemis: Victoria is feeling terrible, I'm with her at the bar. Don't wait up for me. You should head back first.
Just as the message was sent, a familiar voice suddenly echoed in my ear. “No, I won't do it. Get out of my way. Get lost!”
