Bailey rolled her eyes in response. Of course, I will. Do you think the organizer is brave enough to go against your will when you're the one pulling the strings behind this?
As soon as the words rolled off Artemis' tongue, despair descended and crushed the hopes of the three other competitors into pieces.
Mr. Luther is openly setting this up for Bailey. All we can do is sit and watch!
However, they did not dare to raise their objections unless they no longer wished to work in this industry.
After seeing how Artemis killed the conversation, Joshua quickly said, “Seems like Mr. Luther has high hopes for Ms. Snowflake. But then again, who wouldn't have high hopes for a top designer? I, too, believe that Ms. Snowflake can continue with her winning streak.” Then he gestured for Artemis to leave. “Mr. Luther, now that the ceremony is about to begin, let's head to the VIP section, shall we?”
Artemis nodded in response. However, just as he took a step, he felt a hand wrapping around his arm.
He narrowed his eyes with hostility written all over his face.
When he turned around and saw Rhonda holding his arm, a glint of disgust flashed across his eyes.
However, given that he was surrounded by a massive crowd, he did not push Rhonda away. Instead, he looked toward Caridee, who was with Bailey. Caridee met his gaze and immediately knew what he wanted.
She rolled her eyes at him in response. He really doesn't hold back when he orders me around.
Caridee slowly let go of Bailey and approached Rhonda with a smile. “Let's leave the gentlemen to deal with their business alone, shall we? Come, I'll take you to the socialite's section.”
D*mn it! Who wants to go with you? Her actions angered Rhonda. You were buttering Bailey up just now before coming back to me! Do you really think I have no idea what you're up to?
Just as she was about to push Caridee away from her, an idea popped into her mind. And here I was, trying to find a chance to get near the two b*stards of Bailey! Things would be easier with Caridee around. Perhaps I can even poison those two little sh*ts through Caridee.
“Okay. I'll come with you.”
Caridee was perplexed, as she did not expect Rhonda to agree readily.
Before she could even return to her senses, Rhonda had already dragged her away.
As Artemis strode toward the VIP section, Bailey hurriedly caught up with him and whispered, “Something is wrong with Rhonda.”
“I know, but it's normal that there's something wrong with her. Don't forget that her other half is Cadence, which makes perfect sense if they are both up to no good.”
“Then what should I do?”
Artemis smiled and said softly, “Play along with them.”
On the stage, four nominated design drafts were displayed side by side, waiting to be evaluated and voted on by the judges. Whichever draft received the most vote would be the winner.
In fact, Bailey was not interested in winning the competition. She was merely here because of Cadence.
To her, glory and pride could not prove anything. What mattered the most to excellent designers was their ability to design unique pieces.
“Ha. And here I thought Ms. Snowflake was a woman of dignity and vigor. After all, your teacher is Cedric Gadzinski, so I thought you'd be as honorable as him. Little did I know you're just another woman who relies on your man, who abused his power, to win a competition.” A voice filled with resentment rang out next to Bailey. It was from one of the three other candidates.
Bailey had, of course, heard it all as she was sitting with them.
She turned around, cocked an eyebrow, and said, “Ms. Foster, you may argue with me, but please don't drag Master Gadzinski into our argument. I suppose you should know your manners since you're one of the shortlisted candidates. Please choose your words carefully.”
