“Pick up and see what he has to say,” said Artemis.

Bailey nodded and answered the call. “Hi, Bailey here.”

“Yes, I'm looking for you.” Cadence's evil laugh sounded from the other end of the phone. “I can hear that your condition is not good. Let me guess. You're probably so panicked and angry now that even your vocal cords are damaged.”

Bailey lowered her gaze.
