Veronique pondered briefly and replied, “Justin and I already registered our marriage. No matter how powerful the Fletcher family is, there's nothing they can do to nullify our marriage.”
Bill looked up, surprised.
Obviously, he was not informed of that part of the story.
“When did you guys register?”
Veronique smiled bitterly. “Well, it's not like we wanted to. Zephyr... Ah, it's complicated. You just need to know that we're legally married. I'll spare you the details.”
Bill gazed at his daughter shortly before asking, “Do you still love that man?”
Veronique smiled and admitted her feelings for Justin openly. To her, there was no need to hide her feelings from her father.
“Yes. I still love him. I don't think I'll ever fall for anyone again. I hope you can give us your blessings.”
Bill waved his hand dismissively. “Since both of you have decided to face everything together, there's nothing I can say, right? Just do what you have to do, and the outcome doesn't matter. You have nothing to regret as long as you give it your best shot.”
“Thank you, Dad.”
As soon as Bailey's private jet reached Hallsbay, they landed at Artemis' mansion.
Since Shannon did not intend to stay, she bid farewell to Bailey and left.
“She's a strong woman. I'm nothing compared to her.”
Bailey could not help but sigh as she watched Shannon leave.
Artemis circled her waist and pulled her into his arms. “Micah might be my buddy, but I don't pry into his private life, so I have no idea what happened between them. However, there's one thing I'm confident about: things have not ended between them. There's nothing you can do to stop them, so just let them be. Stop worrying.”
Bailey smiled bitterly. “You're right. Their story has not ended.”
That night, a red sedan slowly moved into the parking lot in a posh residential area.
The car door opened, and Rainie got off the driver's seat before locking the door. Then, she walked down a shady path, clutching her bag.
Around her, a few street lamps shone dimly, hiding the two shadows lurking in the corner at the end of the path.
“This is our last chance. We must settle this tonight, or we'll be in trouble.”
“I know, but we haven't had the chance. She might be the best actress, but her private life is boring. She's always at Fashionista, the set, or her home. She doesn't go anywhere else. I bet she's still a virgin.”
“That doesn't matter. Either way, we're going to have some fun. All right. Enough talk. Hide properly. We can't afford to fail this time.”
“Okay.”
The clicking sound of heels approached from afar, and the two men instantly shut their mouths.
Over on the other side, Rainie was in a good mood that night.
Cosmos Studios had already secured her a leading role in Time Warp, just as she wished, but that was not what made her day.
Most importantly, she loved the storyline of Time Warp.
Just as she was thinking about the contents of the story, a man sprang in front of her and interrupted her thoughts. Before she could scream in fright, another man covered her mouth from the back.
“Mmm! Mmm!”
Rainie wasn't a fool, so she knew exactly what was about to happen to her. Because of that, she struggled with all her might, but at the end of the day, a woman was no match for two men in terms of physical strength.
She soon became exhausted and eventually gave up in despair.
“Mmm... Mmm... Mmm...”
“Bring her to the tunnel. There's no one there. We can do our business there.”
“Okay. Go check if there's anyone in front.”
The cor door opened, ond Roinie got off the driver's seot before locking the door. Then, she wolked down o shody poth, clutching her bog.
Around her, o few street lomps shone dimly, hiding the two shodows lurking in the corner ot the end of the poth.
