In the infirmary of Tarragon's branch, Micah was leaning against the wall, looking deep in thought while exuding a frosty aura.
Suddenly, a series of rapid footsteps echoed in the corridor. The next second, Holden was seen hurrying over.
He did not even spare Micah a glance but turned toward Daniel instead and asked in a deep voice, “What did I tell you? Physical punishment is not allowed to be used on my sister. Are you deaf or something? Or are you sick of living and want me to kill you?”
Daniel was so terrified that his knees almost buckled. He had to support himself against the wall next to him to prevent himself from falling down.
“Umm... Mr. Lewitt, the branch's Prudent Hall is under the management of the headquarters. As such, the people managing the hall were also sent there by the headquarters. I have already informed them, but they insisted that the rules have to be followed. There's nothing I can do.”
When Holden heard that, he swung a hard punch at Daniel, causing the latter to stagger backward.
“Are you mute as well? Why didn't you alert me of the situation? How could you have just watched them use physical force on my sister?”
Daniel was on the verge of tears.
Anything he said seemed wrong. The more he said, the more dangerous his situation would be.
Finally, he decided to keep quiet and step back, trying not to bring attention to himself.
Holden turned to look at Micah who was beside him and sneered. “I'm the one who spoke to Daniel, and it was also me who pleaded with the leader. How could you be so shameless? You didn't do a single thing, and yet, you took all the credit by being the one who got my sister out of the dungeon. How do you even have the cheek to be here?”
Micah pressed his lips into a thin line and did not reply.
Did he not approach Daniel as well?
In fact, not only had he spoken to Daniel, but he had also threatened the person in charge of Prudent Hall that, if Shannon ended up dying under their torture, he would not hesitate to kill his entire family.
The person in charge was terrified after being threatened by Micah. As such, he did not dare to inflict the full extent of the physical punishment on Shannon. Otherwise, given the woman's frail body, she would not have made it out alive.
He had also pleaded with the head of Tarragon not just by calling him, but he even visited him personally. Otherwise, Holden's efforts alone would not be sufficient to get the leader to release Shannon.
After all, Shannon had tried to assassinate Yvette, the only daughter of Leo, the previous head of Tarragon. As she had the support of most of the headquarters' members, Shannon had invoked the members' wrath by attempting to assassinate Yvette. The senior members at the headquarters were all raring to kill Shannon.
Even though the head of Tarragon was the most powerful person in the organization, it wasn't an easy task for him to calm everyone down and soothe their anger. He would not have agreed to help just because Holden alone had asked him to.
Seeing how Micah remained silent, Holden raised his fist and was about to give the man a punch when the emergency room door suddenly opened, and a middle-aged female doctor walked out.
