Micah was a proud, dignified, and powerful man.
He would go through raging gunfights and battles without flinching a single bit. However, he was currently crying because of Shannon, who was akin to useless trash in Yvette's eyes.
Why?
That sl*t is in such a sorry state. Nothing about her is attractive to men. Why is such an outstanding man so devoted to her?
D*mn you, Shannon Lewitt.
You should just die.
Why are you not dead yet after going through so much torture?
“Ms. Sullivan, Mr. Doyle called just now. He is looking for you urgently,” Yvette's bodyguard reported in a hushed voice.
With her fists tightly clenched, Yvette lingered outside the emergency room for half a minute longer before she turned around and left.
Yvette, who had sat down on the stone bench in the garden, took over the phone from her bodyguard and dialed Dominic's number.
The moment the call went through, Dominic spoke before Yvette could say anything. “Yve, are you still not giving up after everything you've been through? If Micah truly cared about you, he wouldn't have disregarded your feelings and insisted on saving Shannon.”
Yvette pursed her lips tightly and fell silent for a second. Holding back her tears, she replied, “I've liked him ever since we were kids. I've admired him for a long time, and to me, he's the most outstanding man in the world. He's the only one for me.”
The elder on the other end of the line let out a soft sigh before saying, “That's because you have not met any man who's better than Micah. For example... Tarragon's new leader. He's a powerful and mysterious man who settled Tarragon's internal strife single-handedly. Micah and Holden also willingly followed his lead. I'm sure you will change your mind after meeting the legendary man. Even Micah can't be compared to him.”
The leader of Tarragon?
He was such a mysterious presence that he felt like a god who was out of women's reach.
Yvette suddenly tightened her grip on the phone.
Will I be able to get close to him?
It would be wonderful if I can.
Becoming the woman of Tarragon's leader would be the perfect outcome for her.
Although she liked Micah and wanted to marry him, Micah did not have any feelings for her at all. Besides, his actions had already hurt her deeply.
She would rather take a gamble than continue loving someone unrequitedly.
If she could really meet the leader and become his woman, given her influence in Tarragon, she was confident that she would eventually gain control of the organization.
“Mr. Doyle, who is the new leader of Tarragon? I've never seen him before. Is he very ugly and that's why he doesn't dare to show his face?”
“No, not at all,” Dominic denied at once. “He's exceptionally handsome, and women would flock to him in droves.”
When Yvette heard that, she could not help but feel excited.
