Suddenly There Are Three (Bailey and Artemis) novel Chapter 613

Chapter 610 Eliminating Bailey

I can't believe God gave me an opportunity to turn the tables so quickly at such an impasse. I was just worried about coming up with a plan to get Lionel to return the shares he duped from me. This is my chance! Perfect! So that old man from the Gezmond family was the one who murdered my mother. I can use this information to blackmail Lionel. If he refuses to hand over the shares, I'll tell Victoria about this blood feud and completely ruin their future as a couple. They won't get to have it good if I don't.

“M-Mr. Victor, what are we going to do next?”

“What are we going to do?” Victor cackled. “Obviously, we're going to meet with my good old brother-in-law and take back the shares that were supposed to be mine. Since even God is aiding me, naturally, I'll have to accept his favor.”

He reached for his phone and keys on the table and dashed out of the room.

Salem was hesitant. He knew Victor's actions were too despicable even by his standards, but they were down to their last penny and couldn't come up with any better way to earn money.

Meanwhile, Zayron dropped by a branch of the Saviors. After performing a carpet search, he found out Tarragon had captured Micah, Shannon, and the others.

At that moment, he still had no clue who the culprit who ordered their kidnapping was.

He contacted the spies the Saviors had planted in the Tarragon's headquarters and requested they investigate the person who sent out Bailey's kill order and report to him the happenings over in the headquarter.

After making the necessary arrangement, he returned to the medical base.

Bailey's calm was shattered when she heard Micah, Shannon, and the others had been captured by Tarragon. Anxiety churned within her as she worried about the implications of their kidnapping.

It proved a drastic upheaval had transpired in the headquarters since Micah and the others were abducted. The most likely scenario was a new leader had been appointed. If that were the case, would the previous leader of Tarragon, Artemis, fare well?

“Mommy, calm down. Let's wait for the investigation report from the spies in Tarragon headquarters. I doubt Daddy would succumb to suppression that easily,” Zayron advised.

Zeke agreed, “I'm sure you can analyze the situation if Zayron can. Don't overthink things. It's pointless to panic, so let's patiently wait for the investigation results. As for Micah and the rest, we can only leave them up to fate for now. The only way to rescue them is to deploy the Saviors' forces to launch an attack on Tarragon's branches. You know as well as I do that now isn't the best time to act hastily. The time isn't right.”

Bailey rubbed the spot between her brows and sighed. “You don't have to be so nervous. Of course I'm worried about Artemis, but that doesn't mean I'll be reckless. Let's just wait for the investigation results then since that's the only thing we can do.”

“Okay.”

Meanwhile, Zoey dashed into the living room of the mansion in the suburbs.

“Mom, I heard the leader of Tarragon had given out a kill order! Did Artemis lose his memories? Was he the one who ordered Bailey's death?”

Sophia was pruning the flower stems when Zoey rushed inside. Her eyes darkened when she took in her daughter's unbecoming behavior.

“How many times have I told you not to fluster over every little thing? Are the negative criticisms about you not enough? Do you want to add a few more to your record?”

Zoey immediately stopped in her tracks and collected herself before strolling over to the plant rack. “Mom, did Artemis lose his memories? Did he send out the kill order?” she asked calmly.

“Yes,” Sophia answered indifferently.

As a meticulous person, she would only believe the information after verifying it from various sources.

Artemis did lose his memories, and he was the one who sent out the kill order. Those were foregone conclusions.

“He lost his memories, so you have to be patient. Don't do anything stupid from a moment of glee and ruin the whole plan.”

Victor snickered. “I thought he's a hard nut to crack. It looks like I overestimated him. Just a little scare and he's already wavering.”

In the infirmary, Lionel tucked the blanket around Victoria and gently said, “Get some rest. I have some work matters to attend to. I'll come again half an hour later.”

Victoria nodded. “Go on. Don't delay your work because of me.” Before he left, she grabbed his arm. “Don't give in to Victor's demands. Leave him to his own demise. No matter how much money one spends on a black sheep like him, he isn't going to change his spots and be a better person. The wealthier he is, the cockier he gets. Let him endure a period of poverty. We'll see whether he regrets his actions and turns over a new leaf.”

Lionel murmured an acknowledgment.

I don't think he'll change. From his text message earlier, it seems he already found out about the blood feud and plans to use that information as leverage to force me to return him Saunders Group's shares. Can I reject him? Obviously not. Victoria can't take any more bad news. If that assh*le leaks it to her, there may be another shitstorm.

“Okay, I promise you. Don't overthink things and get some rest. I'll take you overseas after a few days, away from all these troubles.”

Victoria nodded. “Okay. I want to visit West Baxrich.”

“Sure. We'll go anywhere you want to go.”

He planted a gentle kiss on her forehead as he got to his feet, then turned around and left the room.

In the tearoom, Kimberly was sipping on her tea when a household staff reported Victor's visit and Lionel's shocking decision to grant Victor entry. She got a feeling that there was something more than meets the eye when she heard the two had gone to the study for a discussion.

With her curiosity piqued, she decided to check out the situation.
