Suddenly There Are Three (Bailey and Artemis) novel Chapter 851

Chapter 851 Frighten Off

Raymond responded with a light hum.

When he first saw this email, he was also taken aback.

However, after some further contemplation, he came to terms with it.

Before Sofie tried to seduce Leo, she was Philip's lover.

It was no surprise that they secretly carried on their affair and ended up having a son.

“Sofie's attack on Tarragon failed, and her men were completely wiped out. She was a woman who never settled for mediocrity. She'll come to Moranta with her son, employing every trick in the book to vie with Philip's family for the inheritance. So, even if I relinquish my rights, it doesn't automatically mean they'll end up in your Uncle Philip's hands.”

Juliana was not foolish. Her father had explained everything so clearly, she naturally understood what would happen.

“Very well, we'll follow your plan, Dad. Tomorrow, we'll hold a grand clan meeting, and you'll relinquish your authority. Once the authority is in Philip's family's hands, Sofie will undoubtedly attempt to wrest it from them.”

In the intensive care unit of the secret research base located in the suburbs of Hallsbay, Zain gazed at the data displayed on the computer screen, a look of joy spreading across his handsome face.

A significant breakthrough was accomplished through the method of combatting cancer with cancer cells.

The cancer cells within Veronique's body were being eradicated at a visible pace by the toxins injected into her.

If things continued to progress in this manner, within two months, the cancer cells in her body could be completely eradicated.

Seeing his excitement, Zephyr, who was lying on the edge of the bed, quickly asked, “Mr. Zain, is there a chance for my mom's condition to improve?”

Zain reached out and playfully flicked him on the forehead with a smile. “You don't need to worry about being an orphan anymore. Quickly inform your father that the cancer in Veronique's body has halted its progression, and the cancer cells are dying rapidly.”

In a hurry, Zephyr sprang up from his chair, ready to dash out of the ward. As if he remembered something, he abruptly halted in his tracks.

“My father has returned to the Xuereb family. They must be forcing him to marry that phony woman.”

Zain gently patted his shoulder, smiling reassuringly as he spoke. “Your parents have already been through a lot. There's nothing in this world that can separate them now, so don't worry. Your father is here to stay, and he isn't going anywhere. The same goes for your mother.”

At the same time, Justin stood in the center of the living room at the Xuereb residence, squinting at his mother, Olivia, who was sitting comfortably on the couch.

“Are you forcing me to marry Scarlett just a few days after Veronique's funeral?”

His voice was icy cold, causing the previously assertive Olivia to falter a bit.

“Well, you are going to marry her sooner or later anyway. Now that Lettie is pregnant, it's crucial for us to demonstrate our sincerity and give her a proper status. After all, she is the top socialite.”

Justin's gaze fell on Scarlett as a mocking smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

This woman has already pushed his patience to the limit. I refuse to indulge her any longer.

“While she used to be the top socialite, who knows what the future may bring now.”

Olivia and Scarlett both froze, displaying contrasting expressions on their faces.

One was puzzled, while the other panicked instantly.

“What do you mean by that?” asked Olivia in a serious tone.

With a nonchalant shrug, Justin proceeded to explain, “Mr. Fletcher has been suffering from a peculiar illness, and he's been unconscious for nearly a month. Didn't Scarlett inform you about it?”

A look of surprise flashed across Olivia's eyes. Suddenly, she turned her head to look at Scarlett, her expression far from friendly.

“Lettie, what's going on? Is your father seriously ill? Why haven't I heard about it?”

Scarlett's face turned ashen as her body began trembling slightly.

How did Justin find out that my father is seriously ill and unconscious? Bailey... Yes, it must be Bailey. She's nothing but trouble!

“M-Mrs. Xuereb I, I didn't want you to worry, so I didn't...”

Bang!

Olivia smacked the table forcefully.

“How could you keep such a serious matter from me?”

Filled with anxiety, Scarlett reached out and tightly grasped Olivia's arm, her voice choked with tears. “Mrs. Xuereb, please, let me explain about my father—”

Before she could finish, Justin forcefully interjected, “The higher-ups have already initiated discussions about a change in leadership. Ms. Fletcher, I'm afraid your position as Lady Scarlett might not be secure, so it's best not to presume yourself as the top socialite in the future.”

Upon finishing his words, he turned and made his way toward the door. After a few steps, he added, “I will instruct my assistant to start preparations for the wedding. Once everything is arranged accordingly, I'll inform you. If you believe it's essential to discuss matters with the Fletcher family, please get in touch with them as soon as possible.”

Scarlett quickly stood up, but due to sitting for too long, her legs were somewhat numb, causing her to stumble and fall back down.

In a sudden shift of attitude, Olivia promptly grabbed her arm.

“Be honest with me. What exactly is going on with Mr. Fletcher? Is he really not going to regain consciousness? Are they really going to replace him?”

Anxiety was etched on Scarlett's face as she cried out, “Mrs. Xuereb, it can't be true, my father won't die. Even if my father can't help, Raiden can. He can save your family. Please don't worry. There's no need to worry.”

With an abrupt motion, Olivia rose from the sofa, her teeth gritted as she looked down at her. She spoke sternly. “The only reason I treat you politely is because of your family. If the Fletcher family loses its past glory and falls from grace, don't assume you'll have it easy in the Xuereb family either. I've linked the fate of my family to yours. You had better not let me down, or you'll face a challenging time as well.”

After she finished speaking, she strode toward the spiral staircase.

Scarlett gazed after her with resentment, her teeth grinding in frustration.

Olivia, once your son marries me, I'll be able to secure my position in this family. It will be my choice whether you have the authority to order me around or whether I'll be the one mistreating you.

A private jet slowly touched down at a private airport at Pandera, Friyx.

The cabin door opened, and a man and a woman stepped out from the aircraft.

“Pandera, famously hailed as the city of romance. I've been here before, but my previous mission was to take someone's life. Now, as a tourist, the ambiance feels entirely different.”

It was Bailey, standing before the sunrise as she eagerly took in the fresh air that smelled of spring.

Artemis reached out and wrapped his arm around her waist. He reminded her, “Ms. Jefferson, we don't have time to play around this time, okay? Don't forget that we're here to catch the prodigy, 'Archie'.”

Bailey couldn't resist rolling her eyes, muttering, “Can you stop being such a killjoy? With the way you're pursuing women, I'm afraid you'll frighten off anyone you attempt to court.”

Artemis inched nearer to her and chuckled lightly. “As long as you don't run away.”

Artemis took her wrist as they disembarked from the plane. As they walked, he said, “Although Sofie may not pose much trouble anymore, her son is a genius. 'Archie' is well-known, and I've heard about him in Hallsbay. He's been lying low in the information company affiliated with the Hoffman family for many years now. It's quite possible that he already has access to the family's most confidential secrets. If he decides to align with Sofie again, it would undoubtedly strengthen her position.”

Bailey quickly surrendered. “Okay, fine. I will focus on capturing 'Archie', okay?”
