With tears swirling in her eyes, Eunice glanced at Cameron, her small face contorting intensely.
It wasn't out of heartache but due to anger.
She never expected Cameron to be so deeply in love, willing to set aside his dignity and pride for a woman.
After all, Cameron was the legitimate heir of the world's top poison-crafting family and the next head of the Yablon family. With his prestige and noble status, countless international socialites racked their brains, vying to marry him.
Now, he was actually bending his knee for a woman who had been thoroughly ruined by another man.
What's so great about Blaze, that b*tch?
She's unruly, and her years of poison brewing make her look like a witch. How could she possibly exude such charm and allure, giving men the experience of bone-deep pleasure?
Eunice was filled with envy. She, too, was a woman yearning to be cherished and pampered by a man.
Yet, what happened to her in the end?
Firstly, she was used as a tool by her father and brother, and then she was treated as a pawn in Kurt's transaction.
Pampered with love?
That doesn't exist.
If Cameron found out she was impersonating Blaze, he would probably grind her to dust.
“Cameron, don't kneel. Don't kneel to him. I like you so much. How can I let you submit to a mad dog?”
Fine, if I can't receive the love of a man in this world, then I'll play along with this charade, fooling everyone and making those who pushed me to the edge by paying with their own blood.
Cameron's eyes were red as he looked at the woman in Kurt's arms, his face full of guilt and self-reproach.
Ignoring her screams, he slowly bent his knee, preparing to kneel and submit to Kurt.
However, in the end, his knees never touched the ground because Artemis stopped him.
Cameron instinctively wanted to struggle, but Artemis couldn't help but say sternly, “We came here to negotiate a deal. He doesn't have the right to insult you. If he truly desired the seal in our possession and Wilfred's mistress, he wouldn't be so overbearing. Your kneeling today would be in vain.”
After he finished speaking, he looked up at Kurt, who was eagerly waiting for Cameron to kneel, and sneered, “You were the one who proposed the deal, and now you're going back on your word. Kurt, it seems you're not truly interested in making this deal. If that's the case, there's no need for us to continue our discussion today.”
As soon as he finished speaking, he forcefully grabbed Cameron's arm, dragging him toward a car parked not too far away.
In Artemis' opinion, the more vulnerable Cameron appeared, the more brazen Kurt would become.
After Cameron kneels and all, that mad dog might even ask him to take his own life.
What should we do when the time comes? We can't just do as he pleases, right?
If that were to happen, we would have to bear a painful cost for today's negotiation.
Artemis had never been a virtuous saint, nor was he someone who was easily fooled.
Dream on if Kurt thinks he can gain any advantage from us today.
As Kurt watched Artemis forcefully push Cameron toward the car, a trace of anxiety swept over him.
Seeing them about to leave, Eunice felt her heart leap into her throat.
If today's deal falls through, I will remain in Kurt's hands.
A chess piece with no value is likely to meet an unfortunate end.
With that thought, she quickly lowered her voice and said, “What are you waiting for? Hurry up and ask them to come back! Anyway, I'm the one dealing with them, not Blaze. You're not at a loss at all. In fact, you'll gain quite an advantage. As for humiliating Cameron, there's no need. Once I get close to him, I'll make him wish he was dead.”
After hearing her words, Kurt suddenly snapped back to reality from his daze.
He was so eager to see Cameron embarrassed in front of him that he momentarily forgot the purpose of that day.
D*mn it!
