After roaring, he strode over to Eunice, taking off his suit jacket and wrapping it around her.
Eunice burst into tears loudly.
“Why? Why did he treat me like this? Just because I've been tainted, did he have to trample on me even more?”
Cameron's heart shattered at her desperate, strident cry. He quickly reached out and pulled her into his embrace.
Before that, Eunice had used her stupefying drug on him. Now, he had complete faith and trust in her, convinced that she was the girl who had sacrificed everything for him.
After he saw her being in that state, how could he possibly hold himself back?
After yelling at Artemis a few more times, he then carefully cradled her in his arms.
Eunice was determined to make a big fuss about the matter. It would be even better if Artemis and Bailey ended up in a quarrel that night.
Even if she did not win that man over in the end, she wouldn't want to give Bailey any advantage, let alone see them happily together.
At this thought, she began to struggle intensely in Cameron's arms.
“I don't want to live anymore, Cameron. Please let me die. I really don't want to live anymore. I feel so incredibly filthy now. Being messed around by Kurt was something I had no choice but to endure. Yet, to be treated this way by Mr. Luther right under your watch... I really can't accept it. I can't bear it.”
Cameron held her tightly, whispering over and over, “I don't mind. I really don't mind, and I will never despise you. Please, stop tormenting yourself. I beg you. Don't put yourself through this. Seeing you like this truly breaks my heart.”
Gradually regaining consciousness after being punched twice by Cameron, Artemis leaned somewhat despondently against the edge of the flower bed. His cold, hard eyes radiated a chilling light.
As he glanced at his own disheveled appearance, then at the woman in Cameron's arms in such a sorry state, a sense of foreboding gradually rose in his mind.
Did we...
No, it's impossible.
There's no reaction on my body.
When a man engaged in intimate acts with a woman, he would feel something in certain body parts.
However, he didn't.
Yet, that plain reasoning left him utterly speechless.
He couldn't possibly suggest a full-body examination to see if they bore any traces of each other, could he?
He knew very clearly that they did not do anything with one another. The innocent had nothing to fear, after all. He refused to stoop to such levels to prove himself, as it would be an insult to his own dignity.
In the blink of an eye, his gaze fell on Bailey, who was standing quietly in the darkness. His pupils constricted fiercely.
Even though he didn't care about others' opinions and misunderstandings, this woman's attitude toward him meant the world to him.
“B-Bay, listen to me. The person I clearly saw just now was—”
Before he could finish his sentence, Bailey interrupted him coldly, “Enough, the facts are right in front of me. How do you expect me to believe you? Artemis, I never thought you could be such a scoundrel, so shameless. You... You've truly disappointed me.”
After she finished speaking, she turned around and left with an indifferent expression. She didn't even spare him another glance. Her departure was resolute and heartless.
Artemis watched her retreating figure, tugging at the stiff corners of his mouth, a hint of gloom flashing in his eyes.
He wanted to call out to her, but his throat felt as if it was constricted, unable to utter a single coherent word.
She doesn't believe me.
After enduring so many heart-wrenching goodbyes, he thought that she would be the one person in this world who truly believed in him. Yet, the outcome still plunged him into despair.
This woman didn't even give me a chance to explain.
Ha!
Cameron watched as Bailey silently walked away, his steel teeth grinding with a grating sound.
He treated Bailey as his confidant, only to be deeply hurt by Artemis.
And the woman in his arms, the one he intended to marry, had also been ruthlessly trampled upon by the man.
Cameron would undoubtedly settle the scores with Artemis once and for all.
“Artemis, from this moment forward, we are no longer buddies. The next time we meet, we will be enemies, fighting to the death. The pain you've inflicted on Bailey and Blaze, I will make you pay back a hundred, a thousand times over.”
After he finished speaking, he carried “Blaze in his arms and strode toward the mansion.
Seeing her goal achieved, Eunice buried her head in Cameron's embrace and began to smile in a wickedly delightful manner.
