The sudden move of this man truly startles Macy. She has a close look at the cold face, which is extremely close to her, and goes entranced for a while.
This man is such a heartthrob.
Yusef senses Macy’s absent-minded state and lifts her chin with his hand and pinches it slightly, “Hello?”
Macy comes to herself, but her gaze is not fully beck to normal. She pretends to be calm, “It can’t help however clever I am. Something just can’t be solved with intelligence.”
For example, as for the crisis that the Downey’s is facing, all she needs is money, a lot of money.
Yusef loses his hand and raises his eyebrow. He sits down by the table, “Macy Downey, let’s make a deal.”
Macy’s mind gets fresher simultaneously and slightly gasps. She takes the seat facing Yusef Penn.
“What kind of deal?”
She has no room for being bashful. What Yusef needs is what She has. What she wants to do is what Yusef can help her with. That’s it. There’s nothing she can’t make a deal with him. They are just taking what they need.
“Like you said the last time, as long as I can help the Downey’s, you are willing to give yourself to me, however, I said, you and the whole Downey’s business don’t worth 150 million.”
Macy crosses her arms and her checks are a bit hot. Label her with a price is a total insult, but now, she has no dignity.
Since she has been a person without dignity, she has nothing to lose. She pretends to smile and talks like a businessman, “So? What do you think is a reasonable deal Mr. Penn?”
Yusef looks at Macy’s smile and gets a little surprised for her response. Things are becoming more interesting.
“People may not know what happened to the Downey’s but you, Miss Downey should know very clearly. The Downey’s has nothing left but its reputation. Even if I invest in it, it won’t change anything. So, I think there’s no need to save it.”
Upon hearing his words, Macy’s expression changes.
The Downey’s is what her dad has been working for. If it is closed, how can she explain to her dad who is still under investigation? Plus, how can her mum and Macy survive without the Downey’s?
Yusef knows Macy’s thought through the long silence. He straightens his back and leans on the chair back and says softly, “I am a businessman, and profit is definitely the priority. I don’t want to make any dooming attempts. The Downey’s will fail even with my money because it is an interior problem that can’t be solved with money.”
“If you consent, I will try my best to pay the loan for the Downey’s to safe your house. In terms of what is happening in jail, I will try to liaise with the lawyer to fight for a weaker sentence for your dad. If you think the conditions are proper, we can make this deal.”
Macy is out of ideas at the moment. Since Yusef has made it clear, he surely has the competence to keep his promise. But giving up on the Downey’s makes her quite scary to face her mom and dad.
Yet, if she can’t pay the loan, her family will be expelled from her house and will have to live on the street. As for her dad, his old friends have been keeping her family in distance since the crisis happened, let alone asking them for help.
Macy bites her lips lightly. She has weighed all the costs and benefits very clearly but she still can’t say her decision.
“Give me some time to think about it.” She walks upstairs as she finishes talking.
Yusef is not hurried at all, because he has known what choice will Macy make.
After all, no one can help her except for him at the moment. Their cooperation is just a matter of time.
Macy locks herself in the bedroom and contemplates for an hour before she finally makes the decision.
Indeed, Yusef is smart enough to see through all the matters. Giving up the Downey’s is the best option for the Downey’s and her.
Macy is about to tell her decision to Yusef but she suddenly sees a set of new clothes on the table in the bedroom. Her clothes were torn. The clothes are probably sent by the maiden following Yusef’s order.
