Chapter 265
Roland observed his grandson, who had always been distant but now displayed such tenderness and thoughtfulness in front of Larissa. He instantly fell his satisfaction with her grow even more.
“Do your parents know about your marriage? Roland inquired. His cold demeanor contrasted sharply with his warm attitude toward
Larissa.
“They are not aware yet,” Kevan responded honestly. I plan to bring her back for the family reunion dinner and inform you all then. However, she had an unexpected business trip to Bartham. And since there are also pending matters at Microworks Corporation, we decided to come together, We only arrived in Bartham this maming and decided to visit you the same afternoon. No doubt I have always prioritized you in my heart.”
As Kevan tried to appease his grandfather with his words, Roland’s expression improved somewhat. He raised his cane as if he was about to swing it at Kevan,
“What nonsense are you talking about? Your wife should be your top priority now that you’re married!”
Kevan acted as if he had a moment of sudden realization. “You’re right, Grandpa.” He then turned and playfully glanced at Larissa.
Perhaps Larissa was feeling shy that she lowered her head as if trying to hide, and her ears turned into a deep shade of red.
She heard him say. “From now on, my wife will be my top priority.”
He raised his hand and gently brushed her long hair behind her ear. The touch of his fingertips on her tender skin caused a slight shiver. He smiled with satisfaction and teasingly called her, “Honey.”
Her heart raced upon hearing that, and she could feel her body warming up.
“Hmm?” She had no choice but to respond, but she didn’t dare to raise her head or meet Kevan’s gaze.
“Am I also your top priority?” he asked.
“What a friggin‘ cheesy question,” she thought to herself, unable to believe he had just said that out loud. But he loved acting, and once he got into character, he was fully committed. So, she played along despite her discomfort. “Of course.”
To make it more believable, she even forced herself to look at him, and as she did, she noticed his eyes sparkle and his face filled with a Smile.
“Honey…” His gaze softened, as if it held countless words.
“Ahem Roland cleared his throat, displeased as he looked at Kevan. “Alright, that’s enough. Save the lovey–dovey for later. We haven’t finished discussing serious matters yet!”
Kevan immediately straightened up, adopting a serious expression. “Please continue. Grandpa.”
However, the hand he held with Lanssa couldn’t stay still and fidgeted restlessly. He bent his index finger and lightly scratched her palm, and she felt as if a leather swept across her heart, causing a ticklish sensation. She wanted to retract her hand, but she could only maintain a composed face and pretend nothing had happened in front of Roland.
