Kevan locked down at her with a glare, ordering her once again to “Shut up!” 

After Kewan had sent Larissa home, he rushed over to where Ruby was staying. When he arrived, there was no one at the door. But there were several obvious foot imprints on the dark brown anti–theft door, and it was clearly from a man. 

He did not press the doorbell but called Ruby directly and told her, “Ruby, I’m here, Corn the door.” 

Two minutes later, the door opened, and Kevan was about to walk in when Ruby rushed but, crashing into his arms, Her arms were 

wrapped tightly around his waist, her body shaking like a lear 

“Kevan… You’re finally here 

Her tears wel his chest causing him to frown in discomfort. Kevan raised his hand to pat her back gently. 

“It’s alright.” He soothed her over and over. “Cody’s gone. You’re alright” 

Ruby sniffled and sobord for a while before she slowly recovered. They entered the house together and Kevan poured her a glass of warm water. He sat next to her, with only a few inches al space between them. Ruby was still trembling, a lew droplets of tears still clinging to her eyelashes. She picked up the glass and look a little sip. 

“Kevan, he knows about this place now. It’s not sale,‘ she said. “I can’t live here anymore. He will come and find me again.” 

Kevan went along with her and gave a noise of acknowledgment. “I have a few other houses I bought as an investment. TII take you to have a look tomorrow, and you can pick whichever one you like.”
