Her thoughts were swirling for a moment.
"Can I?" Aster took one step forward and held her hand, swaying it lightly while gazing at her tearfully.
Larissa couldn't bring herself to say no, but she still had her concerns. Although Ruby had been arrested, she couldn't help but wonder if Ruby had had anything to do with the accident in the parking lot. If it had been someone else …
"Okay," she said and nodded. The kindergarten had strict regulations and no one was allowed entry or exit during class hours. As long as she sent him to school and picked him up punctually, there shouldn't be any danger.
"That's fantastic!" Aster was so happy that he launched himself into the air. He hugged Larissa and gave her a loud smooch. "Mommy is the best!"
After making sure that all was quiet outside, Aster hid under the blanket and sent Kevan a voice note. "Uncle Kevan, I'm going back to kindergarten. Good luck with work too! Let's game together when we're both free. How about that?"
Kevan called him straight away. "Did Mommy scold you?" he asked.
"Nope," said Aster and showed off to Kevan. "Mommy is very gentle. She never scolds or smacks me. Every time I make a mistake, she'll talk to me about it." Even if Larissa had smacked him, he wouldn't be as foolish as to rant about it to Kevan. He didn't want to ruin Larissa's image in Kevan's eyes!
Kevan suddenly recalled that Larissa used to have a pet cat. When she was with him, she would always be distant, flattering, cold, or tough. Only when she was with her cat would she show a hint of her gentle side. It always made him envious. Now, she had exposed her gentle side to Aster, but she was still as distant as always toward him. He also felt as envious as always.
