An ungrateful person like Judy should just experience more of society's harsh realities!
"What's wrong again?" Wendy strolled out of her room. She had a white mud mask applied on her face while wearing a white cotton nightgown. She scared the living death out of Larissa.
"Don't you have other nightgowns to wear? And your face—" Larissa leaned against the armrest of the couch as she put a hand against her pounding heart. She did not want to look at Wendy any more than she should.
"This nightgown is comfortable and cool." Wendy sat next to Larissa as she complained while painting her nails. "The thermostat here is too warm! It's still fucking hot even if I wasn't wearing anything while lying down."
"Your body is still weak, so you must take care not to catch a cold." Larissa told Wendy off.
"I know my body." Wendy was not worried. "Hey—" She turned to look at Larissa as she asked randomly, "What are your … thoughts on the future?"
"What future? What thoughts?" Larissa did not get it.
"Well, your future with Mr. Rogers. Are you staying in Westonia or going back to Bartham?" Wendy looked more serious than before. "I know you said that you wanted to stay in Westonia long-term because your dad is here, but I feel like Mr. Rogers' parents might not agree.
"I mean, look at Aster's return this time. They can't even let him go … I'm just trying to say, if you are all going back to Bartham, I will quit my job and go with you guys. I was used to living alone abroad, but now that you've accompanied me for so many years—I feel horrible when staying alone."
"We might go back to Bartham." Larissa did not hesitate in her reply. "My dad and my cousin were recently thinking about moving the heart of Blue Star Shipping's business back to Caldor. If it's successful, we'll all go back."
"Cool." Wendy was very direct too. "Once my annual leaves are over, I'll tell my boss that I'm quitting."
Larissa could understand Wendy's feelings, so she did not advise her against it. She only said, "As long as you don't regret it."
