Chapter 961
“What do we do now? Wait for him to leave or call the police?”
Wendy sat on the floor like Larissa, her back against the wall where the door was.
She paid attention to all and any sounds from the outside.
“Let’s wait first. Larissa had some considerations.
Their apartment building’s security was stellar.
Normally, non–residents could never get in.
Larissa was afraid that Kevan might have come back–he had done this sort of thing before anyway, secrelly coming to Westonia without telling her.
But she did not dare to just go out as well.
After all, there were so many dangers hidden around her, so she could not let down her guard.
The heavy footsteps grew closer and closer, and Larissa’s heart began to race faster,
When the footsteps sounded outside her room door, Larissa’s heart was almost going to burst out of her chest.
She held her breath and typed to Wendy to tell her not to talk. “That guy’s right outside my door, I think,”
Wendy’s expression on her phone screen was equally just as terrilled, Larissa sent another message.
“If something happens to me, call the police at once.”
Wendy nadded furiously while covering her mouth.
However, the next second, Larissa heard Lewis ask, “Lari, are you in there?”
“Fuck!” While she was sighing in reliel, Larissa nearly smashed her phone in anger. “No need to call the police, it’s my cousin.”
Larissa ended the video call and got up from the floor to open the door.
“I thought you weren’t coming anymore.” Larissa glared at Lewis with annoyance. “Why didn’t you tell me that you were coming?”
“You just don’t need to work at the company anymore. But you’re still in danger since the mole hasn’t been caught,” Lewis said.
Larissa soon accepted her fate of always needing to be “protected” by Lewis and she asked. “Did you need something since you came to
me so late?”
“I saw that your room light was still on, so I came over to remind you to sleep early.” Lewis rubbed her head and said seriously. “Don’t forget that you still need to work from home. You can’t stay up too late.”
Larissa angrily slammed the door shut. “Good. Byer
On the first day after being fired“, Larissa slept until she woke up naturally. She dragged Wendy to shop at the supermarket before going
to their previous apartment to help Wendy pack her things.
Wendy had not gone back to Caldor for several years. This time, having decided that she would go back, Wendy’s emotions did not
change.
