Chapter 999
Larissa gave him a comforting hug and whispered, “I’ll go with you to the cemetery on the day after the big family reunion dinner. We’ll bring some ple and visit Roland.”
Kevan closed his eyes and returned the embrace.
It took him a while, but he finally managed to choke out a heartfell “Okay.”
They spent some time outside the restaurant, wrapped up in their own world.
Meanwhile, Anthony and Violet, who had noticed them earlier, wisely chose not to interrupt.
Instead, they exchanged knowing glances and shared a smile.
Once Kevan had regained his composure, Larissa confidently led him into the restaurant. t
“Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers,” she greeted them politely.
However, Kevan had already informed Violet about the true nature of their relationship.
So, Violet playfully teased Larissa. “Still calling us ‘Mr. and Mrs. Rogers, huh?”
Larissa blushed and quickly comected herself, saying, “Sorry! Hello, Mom and Dad!”
“Yeah, sounds about right!” Violet responded cheerfully.
Anthony couldn’t help but smile.
“You two have been cleaning up all morning. You must be tired. How about you both go upstairs for a nap? I’ll wake you up when the pies are ready.” Violet suggested thoughtfully.
“It’s okay. I’ll help you with the pies!” Larissa said as she washed her hands in the kitchen.
The four of them had clearly defined roles.
Anthony and Kevan worked on the dough, while Larissa and Violet handled the filling.
As for Aster. Kevan had prepared a small piece of dough for him to play with. It was almost like playdough.
The atmosphere in the dining room was filled with joy and harmony.
Midway through, Larissa’s phone rang.
She wiped the flour off her apron and pulled her phone out of her pants pocket.
When she saw it was a call from Lewis, she answered it with delight. “Hey, Lewis!”
“Do you have a moment? Lewis asked.
“Yeah, sure,” she replied.
She thought he was calling about business matters.
She quickly excused herself from the others and rushed upstairs.
“What’s up?” she asked.
The background noise on the phone was quite loud, but she could still vaguely hear someone speaking fluently in the Baitham dialect.
Her heart leaped with joy.
She stopped in her tracks, exclaiming in excitement, “You guys are in Bartham?”
“Yeah. Since you have some free time, could you come pick us up at the airport? Lewis replied with a hint of amusement.
“Of course!” Immediately, she turned, look off her apron, and ran downstairs. “Wait for me! I’m leaving now!”
Kevan saw her rushing to the door,

“Where are you going?” he asked.
“Lewis and Dad are here in Bartham! They’re already at the airport. So, I’m going to pick them up.” she replied.
