Take Me Away novel Chapter 112

The ringing eventually stopped after a few seconds.

After calming down a bit, Terence bent down to pick up the phone and quickly dialed Spencer's number.

After a few rings, Spencer answered, sounding both playful and a bit annoyed. "Why are you always calling me? The next time you call, I won't answer!"

Terence pursed his lips before saying in a grave tone, "Someone took Fiona away."

There was no reply from the other end of the line.

After a while, Spencer asked in a cold voice, "What do you mean?"

"I think she was kidnapped." Terence sighed as he looked at the jewelry box Fiona had left on the ground. Worry and regret were eating up his heart. "I ran back to the shop when I realized that something was off. I only found her phone and the gift she made for you. She's missing."

There was a moment of silence on Spencer's end, followed by a scuffling noise. The next second, Terence heard his friend shout, "Get me a helicopter! I'm going back to M City now!"

And just like that, the line went dead. There was a deep frown on Terence's face as he shut his eyes. He only opened them when he heard the sound of a car approaching from the end of the road. He watched as a black sports car parked in front of him.

"Mr. He!" Two young men stepped out of the car, looking puzzled.

"Where were you two? You were supposed to watch over Fiona!" Terence knew immediately who they were when he saw them. He couldn't hide his anger as he reproached them for their negligence.

One of the men explained, "We were caught in a traffic jam. There was an accident on the road. A driver hit two people and escaped. We had to take the injured to the nearest hospital before we could drive here. We had a bit of trouble looking for you. Where's Mrs. Cheng?"

Still raging, Terence was about to tell them what happened when the phone in his hand rang again.

"What is it?" Terence growled over the phone.

"The guy who wanted to talk to you ran away just now. There's no need to hurry back," Gary said.

"He ran away? What the hell!" Terence exclaimed.

"Yes, he said he wanted to go to the bathroom, but he never came back. When I sent someone to check on him, he was gone. He left without a word," Gary explained.

"Got it. Thank you for informing me." Terence hung up the phone with a scowl on his face. A lot of things happened simultaneously that day, but was it all a coincidence? Or did someone plan to get him out of the way, derail the two people tasked with guarding Fiona, and then catch her off-guard to kidnap her?

Terence had already secured the parameters of the area where Fiona was abducted. It wasn't long before there was a loud buzz in the sky. A helicopter was circling above Terence and the sound of its propeller was getting louder and louder as it descended a few meters from where he was standing.

It was Spencer.

The helicopter had barely landed when its door opened. Spencer leaped out and rushed straight to Terence.

"Where's Fiona? Tell me where she is!" Spencer dragged Terence by his collar. His eyes looked ready to kill.

"I don't know." Terence frowned. Handing Fiona's phone and the jewelry box to him, he said, "I only found these."

Spencer could only narrow his eyes as he took the items from his friend.

"It's Fiona's gift for you," Terence explained. The gift that Fiona had spent so much effort on was just casually thrown by the side of the road. What happened must have been quick.

With trembling hands, Spencer opened the box. He was overcame with guilt and concern when he saw the necklace Fiona designed for him. He took out the necklace and held it in his hands like it was a precious treasure.

He had been looking forward to receiving this gift from Fiona. But it seemed as if things had taken a turn for the worst. Spencer felt the same as he did when Fiona had fallen from a cliff on Maple Mountain. No, the current situation was much more terrifying. This time he had no idea who had taken her and he didn't know where she was.
