Later that night, Terence hurried to the hospital. He headed to the waiting area outside of Celine's operating room.
As he stepped inside the corridor, he wore his black leather jacket in such a way that made him look capable and steady. Snowflakes scattered around his hair and body, making him look a bit tired. He went straight to Spencer and in his deep voice, he asked, "She hasn't come out yet?"
Spencer shook his head silently. The coat he had been wearing was still with Fiona. So with just a sweater on his back, he couldn't help but feel a little cold. He looked up at Terence and asked, "Is it snowing?"
"Yes." Terence nodded. "It's getting colder and colder."
Spencer glanced behind him and noticed the snow fall. It was the first snow fall in M City.
"How long has the operation been going on?" Terence asked.
"About four or five hours," Spencer said, looking back. He had slept for a while so he wasn't really sure.
"Don't worry. She'll be fine," Terence comforted, frowning.
"Yes." Spencer nodded. If anything bad happened to Celine, he wouldn't be able to forgive himself. After all, he'd already betrayed Celine once, he couldn't handle it if anything happened to her.
"I'm going to talk to Ethan." Terence rubbed Spencer's shoulder before getting up to talk to Ethan. He exchanged a few words with Ethan.
"The operation's finally over!"
Anna screamed in excitement. Spencer and Terence turned their heads in unison, spotting the light above the operating room turn green. They exchanged glances as they quickly got up and briskly walked towards the door of the operating room.
The doctor came out of the room and they completely surrounded him at once. They asked anxiously, "How did it go?"
"How is my Celine?"
"Is the operation over?"
The doctor took off his mask and said, "We were able to successfully remove the bullet from the patient. We have to keep her under observation for the next 48 hours. We won't have any problems as long as the next 48 hours go smoothly."
"What are the odds of things going wrong?" Spencer was worried about her.
"About 20%," the doctor said firmly. "The patient has a strong desire to survive. I believe she will wake up soon."
"That's great news!" Anna cried with joy. She couldn't hold back her excitement.
Spencer breathed a sigh of relief. But he didn't know how he felt when he saw Celine being pushed out of the operating room. Everything should be okay as long as Celine was fine.
After Celine was settled in a ward, everyone left for the night one by one.
Ethan and Anna had left, saying they'd be back the following morning.
"Are you going back?" Terence asked casually, with his hands in his pockets.
"No. I can't. Fiona's here too."
Raising his eyebrows, Terence asked, "I heard that Ryan was also injured trying to save Fiona? Is he here too?"
