The crowd gradually thinned out as the group of people from the Golden Sacred Sect flew towards the blood lotus with faces beaming with happiness.
"The people of the Dragon Chasing Sect are just a bunch of trash. They gave up this opportunity because of our frightening words. What a coward!"
"Humph! With the presence of our Elder Webster, their so-called Chief Elder is not worth mentioning at all. If they didn't give up, they would be killed by us!"
The people of the Golden Sacred Sect conversed with loud voices on purpose and made sure that the words would reach the ears of the people from the Dragon Chasing Sect.
"Elder Webster, let me take the lotus for you," an elder of the Golden Sacred Sect said. He used every small chance that he had to show his loyalty to Elder Webster.
"Go ahead. But you should be careful and don't destroy the lotus," Webster allowed and reminded the elder of the Golden Sacred Sect. By the way it appeared, none of the people from the Golden Sacred Sect knew the danger of picking the blood lotus.
"I got it,"
the elder said as he flew to the cliff and tried to grab the blood lotus with his bare hand. He was reckless and careless at the same time that he was like a blind walking on a road of nails.
"Let us kill them now!"
the Chief Elder of the Dragon Chasing Sect ordered. After such order, the other four elders, following the Chief Elder, rushed at the people of the Golden Sacred Sect. An ambush was made, leaving the Golden Sacred Sect surprised while they are caught unprepared and unguarded.
"Darren! Let's kill these arrogant dogs!" Hobson whispered towards Darren.
At the sight of the sudden attack by the elders from the Dragon Chasing Sect, Hobson took out a black spear from his spatial treasure and also wanted to join them.
"No! Are you stupid?" Darren rolled his eyes at Hobson and stopped him at once.
"What do you mean? Will we just stay here and watch?" Hobson was confused. He thought that it was unlikely for Darren to be cowardly at situations like this. Now, however, he wouldn't allow Hobson to join the slaughter.
"We are all weak. Once we are out there, we will be killed within seconds. We can't defeat anyone. We should keep cover for the meantime, and we must be careful while watching," Darren said coldly. His eyes were drifting from Hobson to the battling elders just a few distances away from them.
"That makes sense." Hobson nodded, took heed of Darren's advice, and put the spear behind his back. A few seconds later, he looked back at Darren and asked, "But if our elders kill the people of the Golden Sacred Sect later, will they blame us for not helping them?"
"That is why we should wait for the right time first. When our opponents are about to lose, we can pretend to make up some attacks. When the elders ask, we will tell them that we wanted to attack our opponents by surprise to preserve our strength," Darren said with a faint smile. He thought that his plan would be perfect. He just hoped that things would work out fine, and the elders would believe their words.
"That's a good idea, Darren." Hobson looked at Darren with worship. Furthermore, he admired his wits for coming up with such a trick that would keep them safe without being tagged as cowards and useless by their elders.
As the battle commenced, one of the elders of the Golden Sacred Sect was badly injured by the attacks from the Dragon Chasing Sect.
Realizing what was happening, the elders of the Golden Sacred Sect began to counterattack. Thus, the elders of the Dragon Chasing Sect were forced to retreat a few hundred feet.
