Taming The CEO The Escaping Wife novel Chapter 106

Chapter 106

Preston slammed right into the butler. The massive impact twisted the butler’s face with pain, bending him over at the waist, and he knelt there on the ground for ages before he could get up.

Preston didn’t hit the pillar, but he staggered back quite a few steps, dizzy and disoriented for a while, before finally crashing to the ground and passing out.

Years of prison life had taken a toll on Preston’s physical condition.

“Dad- Letitia sprinted over, “Dad, wake up, don’t scare me, I can’t lose you!”

Preston slowly opened his eyes, his lips trembling as if he wanted to say something, but in the end, no sound came out

Letitia was freaked out

Mrs. Ramirez, don’t… don’t worry,” the butler struggled to his feet, “Mr. Sanders is fine, probably just a slight concussion, he’ll be alright after a couple of days of rest”

Letitia finally breathed a sigh of relief, “Butler, thank you, really, thank you so much…”

She wasn’t sure how to express her gratitude, after all, the butler had saved her father’s life.

“No worries, Mrs. Ramirez, as long as Mr. Sanders is okay.”

Letitia cleaned her tears and looked up at Elgin who had been standing by the whole time, watching the whole drama unfold like a

spectator.

He was tall and dignified. Next to him, Letitia felt like a clown.

Take my dad back, she said, “I promise you, I’ll apologize to Shela… until she forgives me!”

Elgin looked at the butler, “You heard her, get on it.”

“Yes, Mr. Ramirez.”

A few bodyguards lifted Preston into the car and took him back to prison.

Watching the car disappear from sight, Letitia’s heart clenched tightly, unable to calm down.

“Always have to learn the hard way, don’t you? Gotta hit rock bottom before you start looking up,” Elgin remarked coolly, “Letitia, why bother?”

She turned her head to look at

him.

“Why bother?” Letitia replied, “Should a person never resist under oppression, just take it lying down like a puppet? Resistance might be futile, but without it, there’s definitely no chance. You have to fight for yourself!”

Elgin’s lips curled into a mocking smile, “How many times have you fought, and what have you actually gained, huh?”

She bit her lip hard.

“More torment,” Elgin said, “Letitia, you’re really something.”

He turned and walked towards the Ferrari parked in the garden, “Get in.”

The hospital.

As soon as she heard familiar footsteps outside the door, Shela immediately changed from her relaxed posture, messed up her hair, and pretended to be weak and despondent.

Soon after, Elgin entered the room.

“Mr. Ramirez. Shela slowly sat up from the bed, and upon seeing Letitia behind him, her emotions surged, “Why is she here!”

Letitia didn’t utter a word.

Shela pointed at her, “Get out, I don’t want to see you! Letitia, you’re the murderer of my child, you’ll get what’s coming to you! Leave!” Elgin frowned slightly.

“Mr. Ramirez, I’ve been having nightmares every night, dreaming of our child, he was crying and asking me why I didn’t protect him. Every time I wake up, my pillow is soaked with tears.
