Terrance and Alexia novel Chapter 310

Chapter 310 I Can’t Let Scott Take Her Away

Alexa felt her eyes gradually become wet, and then her vision began to blur.

She did not know how she left the hotel with Terrence. By the time she reacted, she was already lying on the bed at home.

There was a glass of warm milk on the bedside table. Alexa stared at the ceiling blankly, and it took her a long time to sit up.

She felt weak all over and her head ached badly. She pushed open the door and went out. When she reached the stairs, she heard a discussion coming from the study not far away.

One of them was David, and Alexa heard his voice very clearly.

The others chimed in from time to time. All of them sounded very serious.

Alexa stood there for a while before she realized that they were discussing her condition.

“Although we can’t be one hundred percent sure to cure her, with the current medical treatment, there should be no problem in slowing down her illness.”

“I need a definite answer.” Terrence said firmly, “She has to be fine.”

“Follow-up treatment has to be based on her recovery situation. If her prognosis is good, then the survival rate will be greatly increased.”

“You have to continue with the research and development of the new medicine. Hudson Group will provide the funds.”

“Terrence…”

“I don’t want to slow down her illness. I want her to be cured.”

Terrence slowly spoke, sounding a little tired.

David wanted to persuade him, but he did not know how to start.

Alexa’s illness was very rare in the world, and it was very tricky to solve.

Even if they wanted to create the new medicine, they would have to invest in immeasurable human and financial resources.

What was more, they also needed to consider a more critical factor, time.

Alexa might not be able to wait until the new medicine was made.

David knew that Terrence had thought of it as well, but at this time, they all tacitly chose to remain silent.

The other experts still wanted to say something, but Terrence signaled them to take a break and walked out of the study alone.

The moment he opened the door, he met Alexa’s surprised gaze.

The two looked at each other without a word. Terrence walked to Alexa and picked her up.

“Where are your shoes? You will get cold by stepping on the ground barefooted.”

“I forgot.”

Alexa explained in a low voice and shrank into Terrence’s arms, hearing his strong heartbeat.

It was some kind of tranquilizer and made her feel extremely at ease.

“How much time do I have?”

Terrence paused and quickly hid the emotions in his eyes.

“What are you talking about?” He pretended to be calm and whispered, “You will live a hundred years.”

“I heard what they said just now.” Alexa said apologetically and even felt guilty.

“I’m sorry. I should have told you in the first place.”

Terrence’s eyes were full of pity when he looked at her. “You always say sorry, Alexa. But you didn’t do anything wrong. It was me. I didn’t do enough.”

“I did have my own plans when I returned to New York this time.”

Alexa held his hand and sobbed.

“I wanted Damar to meet you. That’s all.”

“I know.”

Terrence nodded and gently tucked her into the quilt.

“Well, don’t think too much.” He gently comforted her, “Have a good sleep. I will always be with you.”

“Okay.”

Terrence lit a scented candle to help Alexa fall asleep and then sat down beside her.

But Alexa did not feel sleepy and just stared at him for a long time.

As Alexa stared at Terrence, her eyes became wet again.

“What are you thinking about?”

Terrence wiped away her tears with his finger, feeling sad in his heart.
