The Accountant novel Chapter 16

This fucking stupid manhunt was killing him. He needed to be with his detka. It has been days and he fucked up. Big time.

Making things right should be his goddamn priority. The remorse and guilt he felt every time he held her in his arms while she slept was eating him alive.

He was aware she was confused by his actions and most likely hurt. It was never his intention. These were new emotions he needed to figure out on his own.

The insecurities, damning, was eating him alive. How to tell her he was sorry? Because of his arrogance and carelessness, she almost died. He had not forgiven himself for what had happened.

He and Alec will wrap this up and go home. He needed to be by her side. Fuck it! He was turning into a sappy old fool.

Special plans were in place. To be executed the next time he saw his beautiful angel.

He will treat his baby with a nice romantic dinner, go down on his knees and ask her to marry him. Begged if needed be. No more arguments and no more high handedness. At least with the engagement part.

The heirloom ring was ready. And the time was right. He would be home by tomorrow at the latest.

Excitement was an understatement. It was more than that.

Dominic glanced at his general. "Is my Boeing ready?" It was a fruitful trip even though he had to be away from Beau for a few days. Two more traitors had been eliminated from his list.

They lost track of the assassin but he was confident they will have his location soon.

The fuckers were so shortsighted to have thought they could get away from him. Him, A Mafia Tzar? The Comando Vermelho or Red Commando was more than happy to hand them over to pay for their crimes.

All the mafia leaders, in any country, will do the same for The Butcher to avoid his wrath.

"Yes, tzar. It always is. But..." Amusement played in Alec's eyes. He was fully aware Dominic was eager to go home. His steel gaze narrowed. "You have a meeting with the Leader of Red Commando tonight."

Motherfucker! And it tended to last until the early hours of the morning because of the party. A lot of expensive booze, drugs, and Brazilian models will be present. Not that he intended to fuck a pussy that night or any other night.

He had his own pussy waiting for him back home and he aspired to be faithful to her. Even though they couldn't be intimate just yet because of her healing wound, he was content with cuddling with her for the time being.

Shit! Reformed scoundrels do make the best husbands.

If SHE accepts you.

The fuck! Of course, she will.

"We will leave by midnight," he growled. Eager to have his detka in his arms soon.

Dinara

Mafia Princess

Shitty shit! She can't believe she pulled it off.

Not a guard on sight. All frantic to reach the nearest toilet. Dinara giggled. Now, she knew which laxative was strong and made a mental note to order more. Thank God for online shopping.

Her father or her brother will tan her hide for this. She snorted. She didn't care. There was only one important word playing in her mind.

F R E E D O M!!!

"Shhh...stop giggling, Dinara." Lizzie whisper-yelled at her while Beau tagged at her lose long sleeve shirt.

"Come on. We take the Black SUV. You have your own cards with you, yeah?" They both nodded. Dinara and the girls were in their nightclothes. They didn't bring extras with them, needing only their wallets. Anything else they could buy when they reached their destination. The question was, where?

"We hide at my cottage?"

She glanced at Beau and tried to suppress her laughter. Her future sister in law was nervous as hell but excited at the same time. She kept glancing at her surroundings as if she expected Dominic to appear out of nowhere.

Who wouldn't be? They had escaped a highly guarded mansion commanded by her brother. She should get awarded for this. Or not. She grimaced. Better think of the consequences when they were found.

Well, they had better make the most of this.

"They will find us there easily. I have a place in mind." Oh, yes! And what a place it would be. They could stay there for days. She'll give it three days tops before they were found.

That will be the last place her brother will expect them to hide. She hoped so.

"Surprise!!!"

"Isn't this amazing?!" Dinara gushed. Her two companions were speechless and shocked, their eyes wandered to the beauty of this dreamland.

They had checked in to an exclusive villa where they requested not to be disturbed.

It took them six hours and twenty minutes to drive from San Francisco to Anaheim. Where the closest Disneyland was.

"God, yes! It's my first time here." Beau whispered in awe. Her eyes on the chocolate store then she gagged. Her brows furrowed in disgust. "Can we find the nearest pastry shop? I want some berry pies. I'm hungry."

In response, her stomach growled loudly.

Dominic elbowed Alec halting his laughter, making him choke.

"You assumed correctly. We must go." He nodded his head curtly once more and exited the club via the back door.

"When will be the wedding, tzar?" Alec grinned at him.

"Shut the fuck up, Alec," he grumbled. Their constant ribbing grated his nerves. Yes. Him. Mom and Dad and Dinara.

Alec threw back his head and laughed hard filling the confines of the car with the irritating sound.

Asshole.

***

More or less it would be a sixteen-hour flight from Rio De Janeiro to San Francisco. He'd be home by late afternoon.

He should call aunt Sandri for the dinner reservation, for the flowers, send his detka to a spa and buy her a nice evening gown. The entire restaurant should also be close to the public for the momentous event.

It was 2 AM and they were up in the air for quite some time. He still had to sign some documents. It should be around 10 PM in San Francisco.

Glancing at the satellite phone at his table, he debated whether to call home. His need to hear his baby's voice won. Shit! To hell with it. Knowing his detka was okay would give him peace. Maybe he could even talk to her a bit until he could get some sleep.

He scowled when a familiar voice answered. It was not his detka.

"Добрый вечер, Nanny Sandri. I hope I didn't wake you up. Why did you answer the phone in my bedroom?" There was a long pause on the other end. He frowned. (Good evening)

"Tzar," Her voice was grainy and it sounded like she has a cold or she had been crying for hours. He was suddenly alert and his exhaustion left him.

"What is it?" If it was another attack and they were miles apart, he wouldn't know what to do.

"Tzar, we looked everywhere. Your mom is hysterical and your dad is out. He is turning San Francisco upside down...and..." Patience. This was his nanny, he shouldn't raise his voice. He heard a small crack. Shit! The satellite phone was in danger. He took a deep breath and let her panic ramblings washed over him.

"Tell me what happened?" He requested in a very soft, low, and deadly voice. The hair at the back of his nape raised in anticipation. Something bad has arisen. And people at the mansion had no idea how to handle it.

Well, he assumed his dad knew. It was also a guarantee he was in action and doing something about the situation.

"We have lost the tzarina, your sister, and the doctor." And just as he thought, it was worse.

It was the end of the world.
