The Accountant novel Chapter 9

This was by far the most complicated financial datasheet she had ever encountered in her accounting career bar none.

And she had solved every fucking shit there was since she was a kid. Still, she saw this as part of growth. A gauntlet was thrown, who was she to turn her back on challenges. She craved them. And will never be dissuaded by a small complication.

She tilted her head to the side and examined the patterns once more. Like an artist, evaluating and assessing a rare creation of a masterpiece.

Hmmm, I wonder how they did it.

It took Beau a moment but when it did, something clicked in her brain.

Why hasn't she figured it out before? IP addresses can also leave fine footprints.

A few minutes. And she was in. Her nose crinkled, skimming highly sensitive and confidential data from the USA stock market.

Fuckers! They were using dummies. Dummy accounts. Dummy companies. Dummy names.

Truly excited, she copied all the financial sheets from 2008 to 2018. Working fast. It would not do if she was caught. Especially by FBI freaks.

Satisfied she didn't leave any trace, she left the site and she closed her server.

One particular guy had submitted proposals for the expansion of investments. Creating dummy companies and in turn, he has sold stocks at a lower rate, taking advantage of the recession. After a year, when the economy was doing well, he made another investment proposal to buy back the stocks. This time the value has tripled. The dummy company has earned 200% from its original market value.

And this pattern happened several times in the last ten years with different names and with different dummy companies. Talk about easy money.

The final tally will boggle her boss's mind, wherever he was at the moment. Her expressive brows furrowed.

Glad he had left her alone today. She didn't need the distraction and his presence grated on her nerves.

Are you sure?

Damn right! That man was more than insatiable. Dictatorial and demanding to boot.

The constant lovemaking has taken a toll on her. She would forever be walking bowlegged. The damn man laughed at her face whenever she complained and kissed her senseless afterward which led to the road she was avoiding.

Her thighs were stiff. And every time she saw him walk so sexily like he hasn't been riding her for hours, she wanted to smack him with a vase in the head.

How could she walk away from him today after submitting her full report? But the most important question was, would he let her?

Every day for the past three days he had been going home with her, ignoring her feebled protests. He was acting like they were a couple.

This shouldn't be so complicated. His role as a lover in her life ends today.

Her life was fucking complicated for the likes of him. Soon, the cartels and mafias will need her. If she will drag him in this mess...

Worry marred the perfect skin on her forehead. She didn't want him to get involve and get hurt in the end.

Though she will never tell him what she truly felt about all this, she wanted him safe.

Her decision was final. It was better off her way.

Beau's chin firmed, determined to let all out in the open. Besides, she has to submit her final report before leaving him.

Deciding to brave the lion in his den, she let herself inside his office without knocking and stopped at the sight before her. Her face blanked.

She was not the type of person who easily jumped to conclusions. Her high IQ will let her assess every angle before she acted.

Then why do you want to throw your Manolos on the bimbo's saloon-perfect extensions?

Her soon-to-be ex-lover looked at her warily. Guilty are we? She didn't exactly catch them in flagrante delicto, however, the woman's body language was telling a revealing intention.

Beau arched her brow at Dominic's telltale expression.

"I can come back later if you are busy, sir?" Beau offered through gritted teeth. The level of annoyance she felt overwhelmed her, taking her by surprise.

Her lover was on his feet in an instant, there must be something in her voice that alarmed him.

"Скажи своему секретарю, чтобы он вернулся позже, Дом." The blondie murmured in amusement.

(Tell your secretary to come back later, Dom.)

Fake barbie thought this was amusing, eh?

"Она не моя ..." (She is my...) Dominic was interrupted by the lady's annoying giggles. She flicked back her hair and batted her fake eyelashes.

Beau felt her hands clenched and she narrowed her eyes.

"О, ваш последний любовник? Она может получить тебя, когда мы закончим." The bitch said smugly, licking her lips. Beau would really like to shove Dominic's cock and balls in the lady's mouth until she choked to death. (Oh, your latest paramour? She can have you when we are done.)

Forcing a tight smile, the genius accountant responded sweetly. "Вы действительно думаете, что я бы унижал себя, чтобы использовать член, который был в киске шлюха?" (Do you really think I would degrade myself to use a dick that's been in a slut's pussy?)

She rather thought Dominic was having a heart attack by the way he coughing and wheezing beside her. Unimpressed, she decided to walk out. He caught her arm and pulled her flushed to his chest. She struggled to get away but the big oaf was too strong.

He looked at the woman before them with venom in his eyes. "Она моя женщина. Твоя царица. Хорошо бы тебе это запомнить, кузен." (She is my woman. Your tzarina. It would do you well to remember that, cousin.)

The woman paled at his words.

Beau stopped moving. "I will leave you two." She said, sighing. Her brown eyes looking up at him sullenly. Shit! She had been very transparent.

Not giving an inch, he caged her in his massive arms to prevent any movements. Damn his possessiveness.
