Nancy was desperate to relax in a quiet place. She wanted to be alone to calm herself down.
As such, she didn't want to tell Charles and their children.
With a distressed expression, Nancy said, "I don't want to see him now."
"Why? What happened?" Doris asked worriedly.
"Nothing!"
When she heard Nancy's dismissive tone, Doris decided not to push the issue. Instead, she smiled and said to Nancy, "Well, come inside!"
"Don't tell Jay, okay? Otherwise, he will tell Charles!" Nancy warned with a desperate voice.
"Aren't you worried that he and the kids might grow anxious if they can't find you?" Doris asked as she raised an eyebrow.
"Am I welcome in your house or not?" Nancy asked with an impatient tone.
"What? Of course, you are!" When she noticed Nancy's sad tone, Doris speculated that something miserable might have happened. As such, she immediately invited Nancy to her home.
As she breathed a sigh of relief, Nancy ended the call.
Meanwhile, Jay was sitting next to Doris. With a perplexed expression, Jay asked, "What's wrong with Nancy? She usually has a good temper. However, her tone during that call was quite grim. It's alarming to hear her speak so strangely."
After thinking for a while, Doris said anxiously, "You'd better call Charles. At least, they won't feel troubled when they can't find Nancy. Oh, by the way, don’t let him call Nancy. We can’t let her know that we contacted Charles."
"Okay, I'll do it." Then, Jay brought out his phone. After he entered the number, Jay pressed the dial button and called Charles.
On the other hand, Charles had called Nancy several times. However, her phone was turned off. He couldn’t understand why she suddenly avoided him.
Charles was just about to ask Hiram to look for Nancy at the hospital. Suddenly, his phone rang. When Charles looked at the screen, he saw that the call was from Jay.
"Jay? Why are you calling? Is something wrong?"
"Charles, it's important. Nancy just said that she would come to my house," said Jay with a shy voice.
"She's coming to your house? Well, did you agree?" A surprised expression painted Charles face as he did not expect such a turn of events.
"Hey, it's not my fault! I don't have the final say at this house. Doris was the one who agreed with Nancy!" A snicker escaped Jay's mouth. "By the way, Nancy doesn 't want you to know that she's coming to our house. Just pretend that you don't know anything, okay?"
"Huh? Why?" Charles's confusion grew worse.
Nancy was fine last night. Suddenly, she seemed like a different person today.
"How could I know? I just thought the two of you quarreled. Well, women are fickle creatures. You should coax Nancy every once in a while. Since you two are a couple, don't fight all the time, okay?"
"I'm supposed to be saying that to you. Instead, you're the one reprimanding me." Charles furrowed his eyebrows. "Well, since Nancy's going there, at least help me figure out what's wrong."
In Charles's impression of her, Nancy wouldn't leave them for no reason. Even if she didn't care about him, she would at least worry about her children.
Therefore, something grim must have happened to her!
"Okay, fine. I'll see what I can learn," said Jay playfully.
As soon as he finished his words, Jay heard a car engine from the courtyard.
"That must be Nancy. Oh, I miss her so much!" Doris revealed her excitement.
"Well, you two can sleep together in our room tonight." Jay sighed as he loosened his expression.
Suddenly, Doris's face turned sour. She snorted and shouted at Jay, "What? You just don't want to share a room with me, right? I am always two steps ahead of you. You're dating Libby again, aren't you? I know you are! You’re such a womanizer. No matter how much I forgive you, you're still..."
