Sweet Twins Indulge in Daddy's Love novel Chapter 293

After a sumptuous dinner and tidying up the kitchen, Nancy and Doris proceeded to take a shower. Then, to cap off the night, Jay decided to snuggle in the living room and watch the TV.

Sitting by himself on the couch and with the remote control in his hand, he gazed at Doris with his enigmatic pair of eyes.

The woman tucked her hair behind her ear and cast a reproachful glance at him. "What are you looking at?" she uttered with furrowed brows.

But Jay stuck his index finger on his lips, signaling Doris not to lash out as he intently stared at her.

"What are you doing? Are you keeping a secret from me? Jay, don't tell me you’re going to the bar again? Which woman are you going to see tonight, huh? It must be that Libby, right? I knew it!" Doris perpetually ranted, holding her hands on her waist while sporting a look of disbelief. The mere thought of that woman, Libby, wracked her nerves to the pits of hell.

Sensing her boiling anger as evidenced by her flaring nose, Jay slowly put down the remote control and helplessly walked towards Doris. He lowered his voice and heaved a sigh before muttering, "I don't want to go to the bar, nor do I want to see Libby. Charles just asked me a favor, and I know only you can do it. He wants to know what happened to Nancy."

"What else can happen? Your dear friend Charles probably hurt her!" Now, a scornful expression was painted all over Doris' face as she spat those words.

“Well, whether he hurt Nancy or not, shouldn't you find out the truth? After all, she's your friend, and I can't deal with Charles’tantrums unless I give him some answers.

Please, honey, you have to help me, okay?" Jay pleaded in a soft tone, caressing Doris' shoulders for an added plea.

"Well, if you kiss me, I'll help you ask her or..." The raised brows and bitten lips exhibited her strong desire to cuddle at that moment. But the shy Doris wouldn't admit to it and instead merely pointed at her right cheek as a signal to guide Jay’s lips.

The latter, who hesitated for a while, turned his head to look at the bedroom, fearing that Nancy would come out. Although she and Doris were good friends, there were some things between a couple better left unseen by others. And frankly, for Jay, this moment was one of them.

"What? You don't want to kiss me? Humph! It's your loss! Good luck explaining to Charles!" Doris flared, pouting her lips to show her irritation. Then, stomping her feet, she turned around and prepared to leave, however, Jay was quick enough to grab her arm and pull her back.

"Alright, alright. I'll do it. I have already kissed you so many times, so this is nothing," the latter uttered with the sexiest voice he could muster.

Then, slowly, he leaned closer and planted a light kiss on her cheek.

"That's it? That's the best kiss you got? Fine! You know what, if you don't want to kiss me, just say so! Why give me that look and useless peck on the cheek? Huh! You don't like me anymore, do you?" As if her flaring nose and furrowed brows were not enough, Doris crossed her arms across her chest to show her distaste and extreme annoyance.

Meanwhile, Jay was utterly left speechless at how blunt this woman was. So, to ease her anger, he gently wrapped her in his arms and landed hard kisses on her face.

"There! Are you satisfied now? Can you promise me that you'll help me?" "Well, I know you kissed me just to give Charles an answer and not because you actually wanted to. But in whichever case, I forgive you. I'm tired now. I'm going to bed," Doris uttered, trying to conceal the smug smile from escaping her lips. Then, she yawned and walked to the bedroom lazily.

At the same time, Nancy had already made the bed when Doris went in. And as soon as the latter walked in, Nancy casually asked, "What are you two talking about? And why are your voices so discreet? Are you afraid I'll hear something I shouldn't?"

Remembering her cunning little moment just a while ago, Doris blushed and sat on the bed's edge. "It's nothing. Jay just wanted me to ask you if you were bullied in the hospital. And don't you dare hide it from me. Tell me, and I will help you take revenge."

Although Doris sounded so confident, Nancy knew better than to get her friend into trouble, especially now that her belly had swollen into a size of a watermelon. "Wow. I didn't expect you to be so capable. You know you're pregnant, right? You have to be extra careful now that there's a baby inside you. How could you even think of fighting in that state? You don't have to worry. Even if someone tried to harm me, there is always the police. They can handle that. I don't need you to protect me. And you know I'd hate myself if something happened to you and the baby because of me," Nancy explained in her soft tone.
