The waiter was almost frozen and paled to death as Doris suddenly appeared with her nose flaring and brows tightly knitted. She was obviously about to raise hell all over that place. "H-He is in a one of our themed rooms, the one called 'love'. M-Mr. Fang said it was more fun to drink in a room like that!" the poor waiter uttered, stuttering out of nervousness.
"Humph! What a jerk!" Doris pushed the waiter away and directly barged into the room angrily.
Meanwhile, inside were Libby and Jay, who were evidently drunk already as evidenced by his swaying and bloodshot eyes. And to make it worse, his white shirt was smeared with lipstick.
The mere sight of that would definitely enrage the lioness that was Doris.
"Humph!" she sneered upon setting foot inside the room. A mixture of jealousy and pique was written all over her face. And because they didn’t seem to recognize her presence, she raised her voice and mocked, "No wonder the receptionist didn't tell me which room you are in. She probably didn't want me to disturb you two!"
As he was drunk as a skunk, Jay’s vision was blurry. Although he couldn't see clearly, there was no way he wouldn't recognize that voice. 'Didn't she say she’s going to bed early? Why is she here?' he thought, not expecting that Doris would come here at this hour.
With an evil smile, Jay voiced out what he was thinking. "Hey! I thought you said you're going to sleep early. What are you doing here?"
Upon hearing what he said, Doris crossed her arms against her chest and raised her right brow. "I can't fall asleep so I came here to find you. You don’t want me here, do you? How about I go back so you two can continue whatever it is you're doing?" she answered with a scornful smile.
And judging from the discerning tone that coated her voice, Jay knew better than to stay in that bar.
So without hesitation, he pushed Libby away and stood up, much like the alcohol had been flushed out of his system. "Doris, let's go home now," he suggested while trying his best not to stumble.
He was aware that reasoning with her in this place would be useless, so he decided to go home with her first. At this point, he seemed like a tamed lion, whipped entirely by his lioness.
On the other hand, Libby managed to stand up lazily after Jay brushed her away. And slowly, a pang of annoyance began to rise within her.
Then, she pierced her lazy eyes through Doris, obviously irritated that the latter had disturbed them.
But Doris would not dare to back down. In fact, any woman who dared to go near his man, let alone spend time in a bar like this, would feel the wrath of her madness.
"You're going to leave that woman?" She pointed at Libby with a hint of mockery in her eyes and tone.
"Yeah, I am," said Jay in a hurry, already grabbing Doris in her arm in an attempt to pacify her somehow.
"Oh? But I don't want to. Look, the lipsticks on your shirt are smeared so bright. It seems that you two are having a good time just now." This time, Doris’ voice was utterly filled with sarcasm. Even her face, which sported a vicious smile, exhibited how disgusted she was.
And although the alcohol was still taking effect in his system, Jay could still make sense of his surroundings.
The moment he recalled what had happened tonight, he knew he had fallen into the trap she had set for him.
"Doris, it’s you who asked me to come to the bar tonight. So why are you blaming me now?" he asked, narrowing his eyes to better study the expression on her face.
"I suggested you go to a bar to drink and not flirt with some woman! Why would you ask Libby to keep you company, huh?! You can't fool me, Jay! A leopard can't change its spots. You will never change, won't you?!" Resentment invaded Doris' face as she spat those words. She had high hopes for this man, especially now that she was carrying their child, but as it turned out, even a baby couldn't not keep his pants zipped.
On Jay's end, however, he felt very aggrieved. He had been nothing but obedient to her whims, even if they were crazy at times. And tonight, he and Libby just drank together, and no matter how much she rubbed herself close to him, he didn't even touch her, not even once!
As for the lipstick stain on his shirt, he absolutely had no idea how it got smeared.
"Honey, stop it. We were just drinking. If you don't believe me, you can ask Libby." Then, he turned to Libby with a pair of expectant eyes, hoping that the woman would save him.
But the latter chuckled and said, "Yes, Mr. Fang and I didn't do anything. We just drank some wine, and I don't know whose lipstick it is. When I came here, I walked past several women, so..."
By her tone, Libby was clearly implying something that picked Doris' wild imagination.
'Several women?' the latter thought, aware that Laura must be the one who called those women.
"Well..." Doris tried to utter something, but ended up trailing her sentence. And after thinking for a while, she turned to Jay and said, "You are really something, aren't you? Tell me, what did you do with those women?"
"They're just some women. They're not even as beautiful as you, so stop thinking about them. Come on, let's go home, honey!" Jay tried to reach her by her arm, but the angry pregnant woman, Doris, brushed him off and cast him a grim glance.
"The lipstick... Explain it to me! Otherwise, I won't let thing go easily!" she shouted at the top of her lungs. Her frantic voice thundered in the four corners of that dark room, almost making Libby jolt on her seat.
"T-This lipstick..." poor Jay stuttered while checking his shirt. He had no idea how it got stained, so how could he possibly explain it? But on the other hand, if he wouldn't say something, Doris would probably think he was lying. Damn it! There was no escape for him.
