"Nancy, I find that you sometimes have the strangest train of thought. If Edward came back home, wouldn't that be a good thing? He would, in fact, be back in his own home. What are you so worried about?" Charles asked this in a bitter tone, making it apparent that he was jealous of Edward again.
"I've just been looking forward to it. Charles, where do you think he went?" she anxiously asked, releasing a heavy sigh afterwards.
"Well, maybe he's feeling guilty about doing something wrong. Anyway, let's leave it alone for now. Let's go!"
"I can understand if you’re jealous of other men, but not Edward. He's part of my family. Don't you understand?" She proceeded to hold Bobby's hand and looked him straight in the eye. "Bobby, what do you think? Should we go back to Edward’s house or find a hotel for tonight?"
"I... I'll do whatever you decide. However, I've also been worried about Uncle Edward. Where on earth has he gone?" Bobby spoke hesitantly.
"Yes, daddy. I think they’re right. It would be smart to stay in Uncle Edward's house for tonight. Let's just go back. Is that okay?" Nadia said while tugging on his arm obediently.
Charles was always willing to compromise when it came to his two children.
"Okay," he said.
Charles then opened the door for his children and signaled them to go inside the car.
When they arrived back at Edward's villa, they only saw a dark, gloomy yard. Nancy couldn't help but feel a little disappointed.
"Mommy, don't worry about it. Uncle Edward is a good man and can take care of himself. Everything will be fine!" Nadia came over to comfort her dejected mother.
Nancy kissed Nadia's forehead and said, "Mommy knows."
"Nadia, isn't daddy a good man?" Charles suddenly intercepted.
"Of course daddy is a good man. You are just as good as Uncle Edward!" Nadia answered with conviction.
Nancy was entertained by Nadia's response and said, "Good answer, Nadia!"
All of a sudden, Bobby angrily interrupted and said, "Nadia, you should have said that daddy is even better than Uncle Edward!"
"Exactly! Bobby is right, Nadia. Don't forget that daddy is better than him!" said Charles.
"Why?" Nadia asked in confusion.
"Because you are daddy's child, not Uncle Edward's," Charles emphasized in a proud manner.
"Well, enough of this nonsense with daddy. Let's get out of the car." Nancy opened the door and got out while carrying Nadia in her arms.
It was already late in the evening when they arrived. So, as soon as they got inside the villa, Nancy bathed the two children and put them to bed.
Nancy looked around Edward's room once more, and released a soft sigh.
"Do you really think that Edward is a good man?" The more that Charles thought about it, the more he doubted Edward. He found it quite difficult to see through the man's mysterious eyes, as if he was holding a lot of secrets.
"Of course. Why would you still ask this?" murmured Nancy with slight irritation.
"We don't know for sure,” answered Charles ambiguously.
"What the hell do you mean?" Nancy asked angrily.
Charles shrugged it off and didn't utter another word.
"Unbelievable!" exclaimed Nancy, before turning around and left to go to their bedroom.
Whenever she mentioned Edward's name, she felt as though Charles' brain would just begin to malfunction.
The moment she thought that, she suddenly heard a phone ringing. Nancy subconsciously stopped in the middle of her steps.
Then she heard Hiram's voice from the phone.
"What's wrong?" Charles asked softly.
"Mr. Fu, I just got news that Mr. Wu had been kidnapped by two unknown people. For now, their location is still unclear, but I have sent several people over to search for him!"
"Kidnapped?" asked Charles while his eyes widened from bewilderment.
Thoughts rummaged in Charles head for a while. 'Who would kidnap him?
What was their intention?
