“Emperor Caden, something terrible has happened! Open the door immediately!” Rebella's urgent voice pierced through the thick door.
The impostor, who had yet to fulfill his lustful desires, clenched his teeth in frustration. He seethed, “What perfect timing!”
“It must be important.” Maxine seized the opportunity to push him aside and scrambled to put on her clothes.
Before she could fully dress, the impostor forced himself onto her again and said, “Forget about her. She won't be able to break through the door.”
Maxine shook her head and said anxiously, “No, James! We must focus on important matters! Rebella is the Jademora Empire's Vice Grand Steward. If she's coming to demand an audience, something significant must be at stake. You can't afford to ignore her—this could cost us valuable support…”
The impostor, lost in his debauched intentions, was too preoccupied to heed the warning.
Suddenly, a loud crash echoed through the palace. The supposedly impenetrable door, reinforced by protective formations, was shattered.
The impostor turned around, his face contorted in fury. “How dare you break into my chambers! Are you trying to rebel?”
