The Almighty Lord Caspian novel Chapter 442

"I'm sorry, but the director's away on a business trip. Please come back another day."

Willow had come all the way to Easton Research Center to obtain a copy of this season's market data. She could start crafting marketing strategies once she got the data.

Still, the receptionist in the lobby wouldn't let her in. Even after she had spent ages trying to convince the receptionist, she was still being dismissed.

Willow wanted to plead again, but she stopped herself. She could see Gunnar's car outside of the building. Clearly, the director himself didn't want to see her.

"Thank you," Willow said with a forced smile before leaving.

When Caspian saw Willow exit the building, he knew they had come all the way here for nothing.

"How did it go? Did you manage to get the data?"

"I didn't get to see the director," Willow dejectedly said as she shook her head.

Willow had no way of making Gunnar see her even though he was clearly in his office.

Caspian wasn't surprised by this turn of events. Sylvia had informed him that Jyn was also in Easton. She was here to stop Southlake Corporation from obtaining data on the latest market trends.

"It's alright. Go back to the hotel and rest up. I'll handle this," Caspian said to Willow.

"But …"

Willow was at a loss. She would have to return empty-handed. What would she do with the product launch now? It would be too late if Morrison Group beat her to the punch.

"Honey, don't you trust me?" Caspian asked Willow with a serious expression.

At the sight of Caspian's determination, Willow nodded.

Caspian made a phone call after Willow drove off in her car.

"Melvin, I'm giving you a chance to return to Easton. It's up to you whether you want to take it," Caspian said casually.

Melvin was brimming with anxiety when he received Caspian's phone call. Caspian had been the one to force him out of Easton in the first place. This even earned the fury of Celestial Sanctum.

He could have been kicked out even earlier if it hadn't been for his prior history with Celestial Sanctum.

"Mr. Lynch, do you mean what you said?" Melvin asked in disbelief. Even he couldn't fathom why Caspian would suddenly contact him.

Still, Melvin didn't dare to question him. He had already seen Caspian's influence in action. He couldn't afford to step out of line.

"Of course I do. I can even lend you my support and allow Celestial Sanctum to return to Easton as long as you agree," Caspian said. He couldn't be bothered with idle talk.

"Yes, yes, I agree to it!" Melvin replied, overwhelmed with emotion. He definitely wanted to return to Easton. But he didn't dare to say anything rash when Caspian still hadn't finished speaking.

"But before you return to Easton, you'll have to help me with something …"

"No worries. I'll make sure that it's taken care of!" Melvin said, determined.

After Caspian hung up, Melvin was excited.

"Gather Celestial Sanctum's core members. We're going back to Easton!" Melvin ordered.

"Got it!"

None of the Celestial Sanctum members dared to dally. They had been waiting for this moment for a long time.

"Do you really mean to let Celestial Sanctum back into Easton?" Sylvia asked, confused. Caspian had kicked them out of Easton, so why would he allow them back now?

Sylvia just couldn't understand it. Caspian could easily obtain the needed market data with a single phone call. Everything would be over then, just like that.

"There's more to it, actually. Celestial Sanctum can rein in Morrison Group …"

Caspian didn't finish his words.

Easton's underworld was currently in a state of chaos. As Caspian had terrorized Celestial Sanctum, they wouldn't dare to step out of line when they returned to the city.

Caspian eyed the research center. The director and the workers here were insignificant in the grand scheme of things. They weren't worth his attention.
