Landon started whipping Matteo more brutally, and listening to Matteo's anguished howls pained Chandler to no end.
"Have you decided, Mr. Kane Senior? Are you willing to let your only son be beaten to death?" Caspian queried with a chuckle.
Overwhelmed by Caspian's comment, Chandler crumbled. In the end, he chose to give in to Caspian's demands.
"Fine. I'll do it. I'll withdraw from Enies and give up the market there, but my son Matteo must not be harmed. Or else, I'll get even with you!"
Chandler couldn't give up on Matteo, of course. He could always find ways to claim back the business market, but he would live in regret forever if he lost his son.
"That's wise of you. As long as the Kane family withdraws from Enies immediately, I guarantee your son will be fine," Caspian said with a smirk.
"Make sure you keep your promise!" Chandler growled before terminating the call.
Looking around, Caspian remarked, "This villa seems pretty decent. We'll use it as the base for Southlake Corporation's northern expansion."
Then, he looked at Landon and continued, "The Kane family will be withdrawing from Enies. Get ready to take over the business market."
"Got it!" Landon exclaimed happily. True enough, he had made the right decision by obeying Caspian's orders. He now had a bright future ahead of him.
…
The next day, a shocking piece of news spread like wildfire.
The Kane family was relinquishing their power in Enies and surrendering their hold on the business market.
Everyone in Dhord City was stupefied. They couldn't believe it. Did Chandler get kicked in the head?
Why was he handing over Enies completely?
Meanwhile, over at Morrison Group, Jyn was so enraged that she smashed everything within reach. Soon, her office was in shambles.
She was consumed by rage once she learned the Kanes were handing over their territory in Enies.
This meant that Southlake Corporation would soon claim Enies, and the company would then start expanding its influence into Dhord City.
That was precisely what Jyn didn't want to see happening.
"Chandler, you bastard! We agreed that you'd stop Southlake Corporation at all costs! What a useless bastard!" Jyn shrieked in fury.
Ginger, who was standing on the side, kept quiet with her head lowered. Jyn was having a fit, and Ginger didn't want to get caught in the crossfire.
"Where's Chandler? Where did he go?" Jyn asked as she glared at Ginger.
"He said he's feeling under the weather and can't leave the house," Ginger replied timidly.
"That's bullshit! He's just too scared to show himself!" Jyn screamed.
After venting her fury, Jyn finally managed to calm down.
"Stop all our partnerships with the Kanes at once! Since they had the nerve to betray me, I'll run them out of Dhord City!" Jyn snarled.
"Yes, Ms. Morrison!" Ginger replied with a nod.
In the blink of an eye, the Kane family lost both Enies as well as their chance to partner up with Morrison Group.
Shocked by the blow, Chandler fell seriously ill and was confined to his bed.
…
"Don't worry, honey. I've settled everything, and Landon's fine now. You can find the right opportunity to come over with Rebecca. She's our trump card. We'll need her help to claim the business market!" Caspian said over the phone to Willow.
Southlake Corporation had taken ahold of Enies' business market. From here on out, the company would continue to expand its business and influence into Dhord City.
He had been planning on leading a bunch of his subordinates over to Southlake City to teach Caspian a lesson, but Caspian had delivered himself up on a silver platter instead.
Zayn thought this was a great opportunity!
"That's right, Mr. Gasse," Ginger replied. She was dressed provocatively, with her cleavage just barely visible.
She strutted over to Zayn, sat on his lap, and put her arms around his neck before saying softly, "Mr. Gasse, I'm only sharing this news with you."
"Alright. Since Caspian had the nerve to come here, I'm going to let him get a taste of what I'm capable of!" Zayn snarled menacingly.
Dhord City was his territory. It would be a piece of cake for him to deal with Caspian here.
"Don't underestimate Caspian, Mr. Gasse. He just helped Southlake Corporation claim Enies' business market. The Kanes have been run out of Enies and have given up on their territory there," Ginger informed.
"The Kanes? As if they're anything worth shouting about!" Zayn scoffed derisively.
"They're just a lesser-known elite family. Meanwhile, we, the Gasses, are an elite family in Dhord City and have a solid foundation here. It'll be like child's play for me to deal with Caspian."
"I know you don't think Caspian is a threat, Mr. Gasse, but he's very powerful. There's no harm in being cautious," Ginger reminded him.
She had suffered quite a lot, thanks to Caspian. She also knew that the slightest bit of carelessness could lead to disaster.
"You're right. Although Caspian is the Stewart family's matrilocal son-in-law, I heard some rumors about him. It was said that members of the Four Noble Lineages of Dhord City attended his wedding. I wonder if that's true," Zayn remarked thoughtfully.
He was curious about Caspian, whose true identity was still a mystery to him.
"Southlake Corporation may have claimed a portion of Enies' business market, but the Gasses command a large market share too!
"As long as we make our move, Southlake Corporation will never be able to break into the market … Heh!" Zayn declared smugly.
