"I was just guessing." Sylvia smiled awkwardly.
She couldn't just reveal Caspian's identity to Willow. As the commander-in-chief, Caspian would be directing the warfare in South Aridlands. There was no way he would be at the front lines.
"Do you know where Caspian is?" Willow asked curiously.
"He should be in South Aridlands. But I'm not sure about his exact whereabouts." Sylvia simply made up an excuse to dodge the question.
"Well, it's not like I'll understand the affairs in the military. Right now, I'm more concerned about the situation at Southlake Corporation. I wonder how things are going there."
Willow's head was filled with thoughts about the company.
"Willow, the company has turned into ruins. There's nothing much to see there," Sylvia said.
Right now, all she wanted to do was protect Willow, and to do that, she needed to bring Willow to the villa. She would be safer there.
"I only want to take a look at it. Are you going to stop me?" Willow asked with annoyance.
"No," Sylvia replied as she shook her head. There was no way she dared to go against her wishes.
Willow and Zoey got into Sylvia's car shortly after. By the time they arrived, the place was already crowded with onlookers.
The skyscraper had been reduced to rubble. The buildings several miles away had all collapsed. It was a terrible sight to behold.
Willow and Miranda shed tears when they saw the state of the building. They both shared a deep bond with the company.
"Astronia and Vadesia are truly inhumane. To think they'd attack us with missiles!" a person exclaimed.
"I wonder why we didn't use any …" Another person sighed.
"Diatoran's not as cruel as they are!" someone else said.
"How will we get about in the future now that Southlake Corporation is gone? We've all lost our jobs."
Quite a few of them were discussing the issue. Many of the employees were in dismay.
They had just found their feet in the company only for it to be destroyed. All of them had lost their jobs.
Willow's heart was filled with sorrow. However, she was the CEO of Southlake Corporation. She had to appear strong in moments like this.
"Rest assured, everyone. I'll rebuild the company immediately once the war is over!" Willow shouted.
"That's right! As long as the war ends, we can all work together to rebuild the company. We promise none of you will be laid off," Miranda spoke out. As the vice president, she naturally had the responsibility to placate the employees.
"Who knows when the war will end?" one of the employees asked worriedly.
"Exactly. Astronia and Vadesia have each sent out their God of War and millions of soldiers. It's still unknown whether Diatoran can stop their onslaught …"
"Rest assured, everyone. Diatoran has the strength and the confidence to repel our enemies!" Sylvia shouted.
Hope ignited in their hearts when they saw Sylvia in her military uniform.
The people who had their houses destroyed burst into tears. Many of them expressed their dissatisfaction toward Astronia and Vadesia.
All of a sudden, the crowd became agitated. Several of them even raised banners to express their patriotism. Everyone began to sing the national anthem on the streets.
…
The relevant departments in Southlake City had to set up temporary shelters for the people due to the large-scale destruction.
Joey took the women back to the city. She didn't expect the situation to take a turn for the worse to the point that it would lead to a war between several countries.
With the city in chaos, she immediately immersed herself in work. As the inspector general, she had to ensure the order of the city.
…
Willow and Zoey were about to return to the villa under Sylvia's and the others' escort.
