Chapter 113
Back to Gwen Point of View:
The first day made me unable to wake up. I didn’t expect the toxins in my body to reach 30% so that when administering anti–toxins, the side effects were this severe.
Yes, the side effects were explained by Dr. Wendy and the nurses, but I never thought it would be this bad.
My body was so weak from the vomiting and headache that hit me. And this will last 2-3 days she said, ugh… God, help me.
Seeing the sad look given by the woman who was my mother, made me want to endure this pain, but I couldn’t, I didn’t have the energy to endure this nausea and pain.
These 2 days were terrible, everyone looked so tense and worried and I couldn’t do anything to comfort them.
I can only hold on for the sake of my health, that’s all I can do.
But I knew that during that time someone was always holding my hand, yes, that someone was my mate.
Without saying anything and without shedding tears, I knew he was worried.
Every night or during our time together, he would always clasp my hand, as if to channel his energy and let me know that he was always by my side.
Little things that show his attention without saying anything, yes, because we can’t show that we are a pair of mates because everyone knows him as my older brother.
Something that must be done in order to avoid something unwanted, yes, because we don’t know how Doctor Wendy is feeling right now, because she is someone who has lost her mate.
Waking up from my sleep, I saw that it was 2am, but I turned my head to realize that someone was holding my left hand while stroking my cheek gently.
Titus, I thought as I smiled at my mate who smiled back at me when he saw me awake..

“You didn’t sleep?” I asked with a sigh, knowing that without saying he was in agony right now.
Yes, he’s certainly blaming himself for what I’m going through, he must be hating himself for not being able to help me.
I don’t know since when I understood him like this…
“How do you feel?” He asked softly while continuing to stroke my cheek tenderly.
“Better” I said but he didn’t seem convinced by my lie. ““They said they’re going home tomorrow, right?” I changed the subject.
Titus nodded as he moved his chair closer to me.
“You know, I heard a voice in my head earlier, I think it was Destine calling me” I said cheerfully with a big smile and I finally saw a glimmer of pleasure in my mate’s eyes when he heard my words.
“Really?” He asked, looking happy for the first time.
“Yup, it seems that this sacrifice is indeed for the better” I said confidently and he just smiled back before bringing his face closer to give me an intimate peck on the lips.
“Thank goodness then, I’ve been wanting to burn this place down every time I hear you in pain” He said in annoyance and I couldn’t help
bursting into laughter at that, yup, typical Titus and I’m sure his wolf was
even worse.
Seeing me laugh made him look even happier, it seemed that he was waiting for my laughter.
“I’m fine, please don’t worry” I whispered trying to reassure him and he just continued to caress me.
“I love you, Gwen, please get well” He pleaded while putting his head in my arms, I wrapped my hands there while stroking his hair.
“I’m getting better, don’t worry” I assured him.
That night Titus lay with me in bed, I knew he did that because he wanted to hold back his emotions and sadness.
He wanted to calm his wolf who must have also been worried and sad about what I was going through.
Placing his lips on my neck, Titus continued to kiss me softly as he inhaled me, something I knew was something werewolves did to calm themselves.

I knew we shouldn’t be doing this, fearing that a nurse might come in, but I couldn’t stop him, well, after what I’d been through it must have been hard for all those who saw me and couldn’t do anything, so I let him hold me and act like a mate for the night.
I was sure that Kurt or whoever would be guarding the door, would inform us if a nurse was coming in for a night check.
Hearing my mate’s steady breathing, I knew he was asleep and like a lullaby, I followed him into dreamland.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better, so he won’t worry about me anymore, I thought before letting the darkness envelop me.

The next day, It seems that Titus had told Kurt to immediately notify if there was a nurse coming into the room, so in the morning, I didn’t realize that my mate was no longer in bed with me.
It was the most comfortable and deepest sleep I have had since I got here, and I didn’t even feel any nausea or headache while I was with him.
It is sad to know Alice, Melissa and my parents would return home and everyone shed tears of worry as they said goodbye.
I knew that they wouldn’t be able to keep me company, but it was already a blessing to have them here with me.
