The people whom Alpha Nick had exempted from training, making them castaways in the pack and even reducing them to the level of omegas, had arrived earlier, training on their own accord, even without any leader.
The symmetry of their positions, postures, the lines of their attacks, and the synchronization of their actions were clear indications that these warriors had been trained.
Alpha Nick was shocked, but Dustin had yet to arrive to give him any tangible explanations since these warriors were ones Alpha Nick himself thought were useless and could only aid the omegas in taking care of domestic
chores.
One of them spotted the Alpha and abruptly stopped his action; the others followed suit and trooped out of the gym with their heads lowered. Alpha Nick was quick to stop them.
“Wait, why are you leaving? Training is just about to begin.” They were surprised that the Alpha was soft towards. them than before, wondering if this was the same cold Alpha from before. For the fact that Alpha Nick asked the question, it demanded an answer they could not refuse to give.
One of them, Sewell, responded, “Beta Dustin forbade us from joining training so we come early to train before the pack warriors.”
Alpha Nick was both ashamed and remorseful since Dustin had acted on his orders. What he could not understand was how they got so good without both him and Dustin training them.
“Then how come you are so good?”
Another warrior, Oniel, responded this time. “Luna Sheila was training us secretly in the woods.”
Alpha Nick was shocked. All this while, he thought she was just in the pack house enjoying the life of a Luna, but who would have guessed that Sheila had taken charge of the pack’s rejected, transforming them into strong,
enviable warriors?
Alpha Nick could not recall seeing her once at training since he was mostly never in the pack. His thoughts were distracted as the warrior continued to explain.
“She hasn’t been here for us these few days. We asked Beta Dustin yesterday about her whereabouts, but he never gave us a tangible answer. Alpha, please, where is our Luna?”

Words failed Alpha Nick this time, not knowing how to explain the situation without disappointing them. He handled things too rashly, making Sheila upset with him. She was right.
He shouldn’t have brought Charlotte to the pack house until the divorce proceedings were over. If that had been the case, he would have broken the news to them with Sheila, which should have made things easier.
With difficulty, he hinted. “I’m very sorry, but there are soon to be changes you shall all be informed about.”
The warriors didn’t look pleased with the information. “Does it mean Luna Sheila would not be training us again?”
Alpha Nick was speechless. He was the one who asked for the divorce, but why did it seem like things were going, against him?
The excitement he felt for finding his mate caused a fear of losing her once again, for which reason he was eager to mark and mate with her, to make her permanently his.
If only he had been a little patient, things would have taken a different turn. Unable to give a satisfying answer, he created a perfect excuse. “Since you are already tired today, you can join training beginning from tomorrow.”
“Who will train us? You have been busy, and Beta Dustin doesn’t have the patience of Luna Sheila,” Sewell responded with profound politeness. Alpha Nick patted him on the shoulder when an idea sat on his mind.
“Don’t worry. Things are about to change.”
As the warriors began to report for training, the ‘weak trainees left.‘ Alpha Nick was conflicted, though a solution. was already formed in his mind.
“Nick, why didn’t you wake me?” Charlotte’s voice rang behind him. She was the exact person he wanted to see at the moment. Turning to face her, his gaze softened, as a soft smile played at the corner of his lips.
“I didn’t want to disturb your sleep.”
