Chapter 172
Daisy’s heart warmed, thinking it was the same thing she had thought. Though he engaged Asena, it might be because he could not find Daisy.
At this point, she could not blame Alpha Calhoun since the age gap between them was around twelve years.
She was not certain about the age of her mysterious man then, but indeed, it would have been nothing less than ten years. He looked more mature. So, she convinced herself that it was because of the change in her eye color.
Also, Alpha Calhoun had been of good behavior ever since her arrival, constantly reminding her of the time he saved her from the riverbed.
It was indeed a curse to not recognize the mate bond, but would he forget and break up with his fiancée if he knew Daisy was that special woman he talked about?
What would happen with his fascination of wanting his fiancée to be the best doctor in the pack?
“I….” She was about to say she was the girl when Alpha Calhoun spoke at the same time, asking,
“How were you so certain I would be given the contract? There were other prominent Alphas there.”
Reaching the Dark moon pack, he thought Aurora had led him on to be ridiculed but rather, he was given a wonderful reception.
At the end, he was equally awarded the contract, just as Aurora had predicted. This gave him the assurance that Aurora was an asset to the Crescent Moon pack.
The question took Daisy unawares, and she realized his eyes were pinned on her. Forcing a smile, she responded curtly.
“Well, after hearing it from my kidnappers, I just thought you stood a chance.”
Alpha Calhoun smiled, believing her lie. He would be a fool to waste time in making her a member of the Crescent pack.
“You join training tomorrow, I will introduce you to the pack members and take you around the pack.”
Aurora swallowed what

and forced a smile. After all, how would she explain the change in her eye color after telling him she was the
She must just find another way to tell him, or maybe, if he fell in love with her, then he wouldn’t mind.
“Okay, thanks.”
The next day, Daisy had just finished putting on her training gear when she heard a knock on the door.
Thinking it was Linda, she hastened to get it as the woman had not given her feedback about helping her son.
To her surprise, it was Alpha Calhoun, and he was slightly disappointed by what she wore. At the Dark Moon pack, Daisy usually wore short sweatpants and a crop top for training, not afraid of injuries because of her smart moves.
She forgot to buy a longer one before leaving her pack, only picking up a few of the ones she already had in her back pack.

It was her desire to know what Alpha Calhoun liked, before shopping to suit. “That is too short,” he complained, his eyes turning dark.

almost nothing.
Alpha Calhoun wanted to change his mind, but he had already made a promise to make her a pack member today.
The unique thing about Alpha Calhoun was the fact that he never goes back on a promise when he makes one.
“After training, I will take you shopping.”
Daisy stiffened. Did he forget his position? “You can assign a girl to me. No need to came along,” she quickly refused.
Unknown to her, Alpha Calhoun did not want her to expose her body because she was indeed a very attractive woman. An attractive nerd, he corrected himself in his mind.
Sometimes, Daisy’s beauty made him forget that she even wore glasses. “I will take you myself and that is final but is there a problem with your eyes? Have you shifted?”
Daisy pursed her lips, contemplating if she should take off the nerd glasses. Would anyone recognize her? Silly, She only visited the Riverbed pack and was always confined to the pack house until the day a girl upset her, and she chased after her,

“No, there isn’t any problem with my eyes, but I’m used to wearing them and yes, I’ve shifted.” She did not know how he would take her wolf but there were just things she could not keep hidden forever.
Alpha Calhoun stepped closer and removed the nerd glasses from her eyes. When their gazes met, his breathing turned erratic.
He quickly put them back on for her. “I think you should keep them on.”
She was too pretty, and those green eyes were the prettiest he had ever seen. However, he also knew that Aurora was a girl he could not mess with. It was either he got serious with her or not dare to toil with her.
Getting serious with Aurora would mean breaking up his engagement with Asena but no, he could not break his promises.

Aurora felt awkward due to Alpha Calhoun’s reaction, feeling that he didn’t like her eye color. Could her parents and cousins have lied to her comfort her from losing her dark eyes, similar to that of her dad’s?
The two jogged side by side until they reached the gym. The Crescent Moon pack was not as large as the Dark Moon pack. It was rather like a quarter of it.
