The Alpha's Surprised Mate (Book #1 of Silver Moon Series) novel Chapter 125

One-Hundred Twenty-Four: Restrictions

Dustin

Good god, I thought this entire pack was going to implode when Jordyn and Xaydyn disappeared. We didn’t realize it at first, and to be honest, we had no idea how long they had been gone. Our first clue was when an ear-piercing screaming started in the middle of a very important business call that I was taking in my office at home. I quickly ended the call and started running down the stairs. The screaming and crying got louder as I got to the kitchen. By the time I got to the kitchen, I had found Dominick having a meltdown of epic proportions. What in the hell is the problem? He tried to push his way past me, but I picked him up. Well, that is definitely not what he wanted. He started hitting me so I would put him down. Mykayla comes running frantically into the kitchen.

“What is wrong with him?” She asks me.

“I have no idea. I was in my office on the phone when this started.” I tell her.

She tries to take him from me, but he wants nothing to do with her. Peter and Xion come walking in at that moment. They are shocked to see him having such a meltdown.

“Where are Jordyn and Xaydyn” Seth asks as he drinks his soda.

I look around, and that’s when it hits me. Neither of the other two is here. That’s weird, and I bet that is the reason behind the epic meltdown. I start mind-linking people to see if anyone has seen the other two. No one has. Well, shit, I am trying to avoid sending this mind link. I text Reecie instead to ask, but he hasn’t seen them either. He thought they were with Dominick in the rec room. Not five minutes later, both Reecie and Kaleb show up. Great, this is not what I want to do right now. Dominick still has his meltdown.

“What’s going on?” Reecie asks.

“We are not sure, but Jordyn and Xaydyn are nowhere to be found,” I explain.

Three seconds is all it took for my best friend to lose his shit. Great, now I have two people having epic meltdowns. Back down to the rec room, we try to figure out where they could be. Mykayla asks Dominick, but all he does is the point at the ground. Not helpful. Mykayla lets Mykenzie and Kylani know what is going on. About an hour later, both girls walk in with the two errant toddlers in their arms. Well, it seems that Jordyn and Xaydyn had a new ability arise. I think it is time to put a few restrictions on these two until they get old enough to use and control their powers and abilities appropriately. I don’t need my pack imploding or several people having epic meltdowns.

Reecie

I was just as panicked as Kaleb when I found out Xaydyn had gone missing. I just am better at hiding it. I had a feeling that they went looking for someone. I know Dominick got left behind because the other two probably couldn’t figure out how to bring him along. I have never seen a child have a meltdown like that. I was impressed. I was not surprised when Mykenzie and Kylani came back carrying the two toddlers. Now that everything has calmed down and Kaleb is breathing normally again, it is time to have a very serious talk. I look at both of them. Kaleb has not put Jordyn down or let her out of his sight since Kylani came back with her. At least Dominick stopped screaming.

“Ok, we should probably do something so that these two can’t leave a certain area, say the pack territory,” I tell Mykenzie.
