Upon hearing this, Damian's face darkened. He thought for a while and replied, "Actually, I don't totally believe in him. But a glimmer of hope is better than despair. I really don't know what to do. Sheryl is now..."
"Damian, do you think it's worth doing so much for this woman? She doesn't even appreciate it. Instead, she threw herself into her ex-husband's arms. How do you feel about that? Aren't you sad?" Duke asked.
A tinge of despair flashed across Damian's face. He forced a smile and said, "Sad? It's not as simple as being sad. I feel as if a knife is being twisted in my heart. I feel the pain all over my body. But now I'm numb, and I can't feel anything."
Duke couldn't help but feel sorry for him. However, he felt like he couldn't do anything as Damian seemed completely entranced by Sheryl. He didn't know what to say then.
"To be honest, I think you should just give up. It's not worth risking your life for a woman who doesn't even love you," Duke said with a sigh.
Damian didn't respond. He lowered his head, deep in thought.
"I know I can't persuade you to change your mind. Forget it. I've tried my best. What will you do in the future then?" Duke added.
Damian suddenly raised his head, his face terrified. "I'll go ask Sheryl," he said.
"What are you going to ask her?" Duke asked hurriedly.
"You don't need to know that," Damian said in a cold tone. There was a look of ecstasy on his face. It was obvious that he wasn't going to listen to anyone.
All he wanted was to see Sheryl and ask her why she did this to him!
Duke had no choice but to give up. Although he couldn't persuade Damian, he couldn't bear to see Damian continue making the same mistakes over and over again. If Damian did something wrong, how could he explain it to Damian's father?
Duke then decided he would send someone to monitor Damian from now on. In order to prevent anything bad from happening to him, he had no choice but to do this.
After Duke left, Damian paced back and forth in his room.
In the past few days, he had been going to the Cloud Advertising Company to see Sheryl, but Isla wouldn't let him.
He would then go to where Sheryl lived, but no one was ever home. Not even the children or any servants.
Damian would try to call Sheryl only to find that Sheryl had turned off her phone.
What happened?
A bad feeling crept up in his heart. 'Is Sheryl cutting me off?'
Damian was going crazy that he couldn't control himself anymore. He needed to see Sheryl right now.
Damian knew that Duke wouldn't help him, so he had to turn to a private detective for help. He had paid a lot so he could find out where Sheryl was.
The city was huge. Thankfully, the private detective helped, and they were able to track Sheryl down in a hospital, looking after Clark.
The first thing Damian thought when he was told was that Sheryl was avoiding him.
After all, she didn't have to dismiss the servants, she didn't have to stay in the hospital all day long, and she didn't even have to turn off her phone.
Damian had lost his mind. All he could think about was that he had to find Sheryl as soon as possible.
He took a taxi to the hospital. After asking which ward Clark was in, he went straight upstairs.
In the elevator, Damian was so excited that his heart almost jumped out of his chest when he thought of seeing Sheryl, the woman he missed every day.
