Scythe POV.
We watch as the SUV carrying Rebel drives off at speed. Dante climbs into the SUV and tries to start it up, but nothing. He tries again and nothing.
“Fuck!” he shouts as he hits the steering wheel. He climbs out and runs back inside the mansion. I follow behind him. Why did she do this? I know what she is planning on doing. I need to stop her. We need to stop her. We need to get to the UK before she does. Before she does something, she won’t be able to walk away from.
I pull my phone from my pocket and call Savage.
“Yeah, what’s up?” he answers. I can hear beeping in the background, so he must be at the hospital.
“It’s Rebel. She is heading to the UK and soon. She is going to get herself killed Savage. I need your help.” I tell him and he gasps and I know he is moving now. I can hear Angel asking what’s wrong, but he isn’t telling her anything.
“How do you know this?” He asks me and I sigh as Dante comes running back out with keys in his hand and runs around the side of the mansion so I follow him.
“She wants this over with and in her head. The only way to get that is by going after Luna alone. She is going to do something stupid. I can feel it, Savage. Please, we need to stop her.” I say to him as I see Dante climb into a Pagani and I climb in the passenger seat. He starts the car, and it revs before he drives off at speed to catch the SUV.
“Get to the clubhouse now, I will meet you there.” he hangs up and I look at Dante. His knuckles are white at how hard he is gripping the steering wheel.
“Head to the clubhouse.” I tell him, and he presses the accelerator harder as we race to the clubhouse. The roads aren’t that busy, he swerves around cars to get us there as fast as possible.
“She won’t be at the clubhouse. She will head straight to the headquarters and then the airfield from there. She is going to get herself killed. She is going to give Luna what she wants.” He says and I nod my head, biting my bottom lip.
I pull up the contacts in my phone and add people to a group call and press call. I wait as each person answers.
“Scythe, what’s up, man?”
“Listen all of you, Rebel is leaving to go to the UK, but she is going to her death. We need to get there before she does. We need to stop her.” I say, and they are all silent. When my dad speaks.
“Son, calm yourself. Savage has just called church. He is on his way and Nate and Nico are still here. They will be at this meeting. How long do we have before she lands?” he says and I take a breath.
“She hasn’t left yet. She will be in the next few hours. We need to get ahead of her dad. I can’t lose her again.” I say as the first tear leaves my eyes.
“Ok, we can work with this. Get here, son. We will stop her from doing something stupid that only Rebel would.” He says and the rest agree with him. We end the call as we race up the driveway of the compound. Dante rips up the handbrake and turns the steering wheel of the car and it comes to a side skidding holt.
I look at him and he smirks at me.
“Let’s go and get our girl,” he says, kissing me before we leave the car. We run up the steps and into the clubhouse. We walk fast to the conference room and enter.
Nate, Nico, my dad, Ice, Ripper, Hound, and a few of the other members are here. We are waiting for Savage.
“Son, don’t worry. We will sort this out.” My dad hugs me and I feel like breaking, but I can’t, I won’t.
“What is happening?” Nate asks as he looks from me to Dante. Nate Moretti is now the don of the Moretti family, and Nico is the boss of the cartel. Angel is the Donna of the DeNucci family. They are all powerful people. It’s a shame they didn’t use that power to stop all this from happening in the first place.
“It’s Rebel.” I say and he nods his head once and looks at Nico and nods his head to him and he pulls out his phone and makes a call walking out of the conference room.
