“Barbara! If you don’t clarify, get out of the Sutton family. I won’t provide you with any resources from now on.” 

Johnny’s voice was ruthless, with no hint of joking. 

Barbara was filled with resentment. Why did Johnny change so much when facing Alina? It seemed like he was siding with her entirely! 

Why did he protect Alina so much? What did Alina have that was so good? 

And now, just for Alina, Johnny wanted to kick Barbara out! 

Barbara had always been adaptable, or she wouldn’t have come this far. 

She nodded, crying even more. “Don’t make me leave. I’ll apologize and clarify. Is that okay?” 

“I… I… Barbara covered her heart and seemed to be convulsing, almost fainting. 

“Barbara?” Johnny thought Barbara’s illness had flared up again. She had always had poor health. 

“Call a doctor!” he said to the butler. 

“Wait Alina stopped him and said, “I can handle this minor ailment. There’s no need to trouble a doctor.” 

Despite the apparent stillness, Barbara’s eyes betrayed subtle movements that caught Alina’s attention. The combination of this peculiar behavior and the earlier breathless act struck Alina as disingenuous. It seemed unlikely that someone on the verge of fainting would exhibit such controlled and calculated movements. 

As Johnny observed the scene unfolding before him, memories of Alina tending to his wounds in the past resurfaced. The recollection sparked a question in his mind. Could Alina possess medical skills? 

With determined resolve, Alina swiftly made her way to the kitchen, her purpose clear. Moments later, she emerged, gripping a knife firmly in her hand. 

Johnny watched her actions, a mixture of curiosity and uncertainty playing across his face. While he couldn’t decipher her intentions, he didn’t intervene, silently observing the unfolding events. 

Confusion gnawed at Johnny’s thoughts. This was supposed to be Alina’s first time in this place, yet her familiarity with the surroundings left him perplexed. 

How did she know where the kitchen was located? 

When Alina walked over just now, she didn’t hesitate, as if it wasn’t her first time coming here. 

As Alina approached the scene, Johnny’s doubts multiplied. He witnessed her firmly grasping Barbara’s chin, her actions assertive and unyielding. A sharp slap reverberated through the room in the next instant, striking Barbara’s other cheek with 

force. 

Alina’s ruthlessness was unmistakable, leaving both sides of Barbara’s face flushed and stinging from the impact. It was evident that Barbara would bear the marks of this encounter, her face likely to be swollen and tender tomorrow. 

Barbara was in pain, wanting to grimace. But now, she had pretended to faint to avoid apologizing and clarifying. So she 

wouldn’t be awake now 

Every time Johnny pressured her, she would pretend to faint, and every time she wanted to see Johnny, she would pretend to faint as well it had always worked.

Barbara was shocked. Alina was indeed a venomous woman. She wanted to scar Barbara’s face even though she had fainted! 

Alina must be jealous of her beauty, and ruining her face would destroy any chance of marrying Johnny.
