CHAPTER 13

10:00 pm Wednesday, in Bosnia and Herzegovina

5:00 am Thursday, in Asia

Aliyah arrives at the factory at 5:00 a.m. for a quick free meal at the canteen, then her work will start at 6:00 a.m.

While eating her breakfast, Aliyah receive the message of Atif.

“How are you? The reason why I didn’t reply to your message is I accidentally met a girl that catches my interest and she and I had dinner this evening. I’ll drive her to her home for her car got a problem. I’ll just arrived at home,” Atif explain to Aliyah.

Aliyah don’t know what to say.

“I don’t want to bother you with this but because you are my friend I just want to share it to you. I really like her and she likes me too.” Aliyah receive another message from Atif.

For a while, Aliyah don’t want to answer the chat of Atif because she feel a little bit jealous.

And she can see it coming, the time that she can’t anymore talk or chat to Atif if Atif find a girlfriend.

Aliyah knew it is for sure.

But in the end Aliyah can’t just ignore Atif for she consider him as a friend even they just met in social media and never meet in person.

Aliyah decided to reply before she go to her working place.

“Good for you. What is her name?” Aliyah asked.

“Nea “Atif replied.

“Nice name. I make a wish for you, hope it will come true. That you will really find the right woman for you whom you can marry so that you can have your own family you’ve dreaming of.” Aliyah replied.

That’s what she said even though she feel sad at the moment for she see that she will lose Atif if that wish will come true.

“Thank you. You know I’m planning to retired at 35 years old so that if I will have a family I will devote my time to them. That’s why I’m working hard this time to save money.” Atif replied.

“That’s good. The woman that you will choose to be your girlfriend will be so lucky to have you.” Aliyah replied.

“How can you say that? I’m a man who’s not easy to handle for I choose my career over relationship.” Atif said.

“Really? But she is still lucky for you are capable of supporting the needs if you have a family. Aside from that you are responsible and hard-working. “Aliyah replied.

Atif smile when he read the message of Aliyah. He is flatter on what Aliyah said.

“Thanks if that’s what you think of me.” Atif replied.

“Anyway. I talk to you later. Goodnight.” Aliyah wants to end their conversation for the time is near 6:00 a.m.

Aliyah work shift will start at 6:00 am.

She said goodnight to Atif for she knew that it’s already night at Atif’s country.

“Okay. Good morning. Have a nice day. Atif replied.

He said good morning to Aliyah for he knew that it’s already morning at Aliyah’s country.

They have different time zone.

Their conversation end.

Aliyah go to her working place while Atif fall asleep for he is to way to drunk.

He is drinking while chatting to Aliyah.

He drinks for he wants to forget every little thing his grandfather said.

Still, in his mind, Atif heard the words his grandfather said.

From childhood until now Atif always obey what his grandfather wants him to do.

But now he can’t.

Atif disobey his grandfather this time.

He still talk to Aliyah in spite of his grandfather’s warning.

“I break the rules this time, just this time for you Aliyah.” Atif is talking to himself while slowly falling to sleep.

That’s the effect of alcohol.

This night because Atif was drunk he fall into deep sleep.

Atif is dreaming this time. At first he is happy in his dream but later on his dream turns into a nightmare.

Why?

For in his dream, he is seeing these scenes:

In his dream he is still a little boy with long dark hair which curled prettily around his face.

He is a good-looking little boy.

The snowflakes fell upon his long dark hair.

He is standing in front of the fast food building.

Its Friday evening again.

He is waiting for someone to arrive.

He is waiting for his friend.

He is waiting for he knew that at the same time, at the same day of the week his friend will arrive in this place to visit him.

The wind is so called for its winter and its already evening. He sit down, drawing his feet under his thin clothes, but he felt colder than before.

After an hour of waiting, his friend arrive.

Her appearance shows that she is nearly in teenage years. Not really a teenager. She is six or seven years older than Atif.

The girl have a long dark brown hair. She is a short and slim girl with white skin complexion. She is pretty.

“Haya”. Atif call her and jump on his feet when he saw his friend walking towards the fast food.

Atif is very happy when he see his friend Haya arriving.

“How are you?” Haya ask Atif when she get near to him.

“I’m feeling so cold earlier waiting for you here but now I’m fine because you arrived.” Atif said.

“Let’s get inside the fast food. Let’s eat.” Said Haya for she knew that Atif is hungry.

For most of the time Atif counting some days before he can eat good meal.
