"Tonight's charity gala, you're coming with me."
Hearing Kieran wanted to take her to a charity gala, Freya frowned, "Why not take Eloise?"
"You wish I'd taken Eloise?" A hint of displeasure laced Kieran's tone.
Freya said, "It's not like that. I thought Ms. Harwood was a better match for you, Mr. Sutton."
Kieran was getting impatient. "Freya, are you trying to push me away?"
"Why are you getting mad, Mr. Sutton? Our engagement is just a business arrangement and it's temporary. It's completely normal for us to live our own lives. Mr. Sutton, your fondness for Eloise is no secret in our circles. So, why bother taking me?" With every word, Freya was testing Kieran's patience.
Kieran coldly responded, "Living our own lives... It seems you and Ronan are quite the pair."
"That's nothing compared to Mr. Sutton, who even had a child with Ms. Harwood." Freya's offhand remark chilled Kieran's demeanor further.
The atmosphere around them tensed up dramatically.
Freya knew that the subject of a child had always been taboo for Kieran. Though it was just a rumor back then, who's to say it wasn't true? Judging by Kieran's reaction, the rumor seemed closer to truth.
"Mr. Sutton, they’ve arrived." Jarrett entered the room, followed by a team of makeup artists and stylists carrying their kits.
"Take Ms. Dawson upstairs to change."
