Freya said with a sly twinkle in her eye, "That piece of land is only worth one hundred million. If you wanted to purchase it, I could help make the introductions. How does that sound?"
After all, Preston was bound to fall for Eloise sooner or later.
She thought she might as well play Cupid. It didn't matter how Preston and Kieran pursued Eloise. She was just an outsider.
With Preston as a formidable rival, Kieran would likely stop obsessing over her.
Piqued, Preston asked, "And how would you help me make these connections?"
"I'll arrange a meeting with Eloise, offering to leave Kieran if that's what it takes... Mr. Tyler, you name your price for the land."
"Oh?" Preston said, "Ms. Dawson, sacrificing oneself for others... that's a level of nobility I've yet to achieve."
"You jest, Mr. Tyler," Freya responded. "Just say the word, and I'll give Ms. Harwood a call. Could be a good chance for you two to break the ice. What do you think?" Freya's eyes sparkled with mischief.
Preston sipped his coffee and remarked, "I hear you've got quite the soft spot for Kieran, going to such lengths. And now, you're willing to leave him?"
"I do fancy Kieran, but this is all to show my sincerity to Mr. Tyler. Moreover, I know Kieran's heart belongs to someone else. Why should I continue playing the fool?"
Despite Freya's earnest tone, Preston detected something amiss. "Ms. Dawson, your gift of gab would be wasted anywhere but in sales."
Setting down his coffee, Preston continued, "It seems you're looking for a way out of an engagement, and you've come to me for help, haven't you?"
Freya was about to explain further when Preston said, "Helping you isn't out of the question."
Taking Freya by surprise, he added, "Contact Eloise now. Let's find a place to have a proper discussion."
"Deal. I've been waiting for you to say that." With that, Freya pulled out her phone.
