Freya didn't even give Kara a chance to protest.
When everyone saw Freya taking Kara by the arm and leading Kara away, whispers erupted in the crowd.
"Does Freya know Kara's been cozying up to Mr. Sutton and is green with envy?"
"It's definitely gonna be a face-off. What else could have put that look on Freya's face?"
"Freya thinks too highly of herself. Mr. Sutton is into Kara, and what's there for her to be jealous about? Everyone knows her fiancée title is just for show."
.....
Overhearing the gossip, Luna glanced at the group sternly. "What was that? Say it one more time!"
Knowing Luna as the daughter of a media mogul, the group quickly apologized, "Ms. Jennings, we were just spouting nonsense!"
"Yeah, just talking rubbish! Please don’t take it to heart."
"I'm warning you. If I hear anyone badmouthing Freya again, you'll regret it." Luna's tone had turned icy.
The group quieted down, not wanting to piss off Luna. After all, Luna had powerful parents backing her up, unlike Freya, who only had a stepmom.
Meanwhile, Freya had taken Kara to an empty classroom.
Once inside, looking rather pitiful, Kara said, "Freya, you're hurting me."
