The Bride Who Said No: Escaping the Shadows of Yesterday novel Chapter 190

Anyone with half a brain could see it. Freya used to be head over heels for Kieran, and now? She couldn't stand the sight of him. Sending flowers at this point? She'd toss them straight into the trash.

Kieran rushed it. "Why all the fuss? Just do as told. Do you not want to be my executive assistant anymore?"

"I'm on it!" Jarrett quickly left the office.

Thirty minutes later, Jarrett knocked on the Dawson family's front door.

When Freya opened the door, she saw a massive bouquet of roses.

Her eyelids twitched as she asked, "Jarrett, what's this all about?"

Jarrett said, "This is from Mr. Sutton, Ms. Dawson. He's sorry about what happened. He was a bit impulsive..."

Freya had slammed the door shut before Jarrett could finish.

Seeing this, Jarrett quickly said, "Ms. Dawson, Mr. Sutton is really sorry, and he even arranged for us to give you a ride home! Please don't make our job harder. We're just doing what we're told! Ms. Dawson!"

Freya ignored Jarrett’s frantic pleas at the door.

Instead, Johanna ran down from upstairs, pointing at Freya’s nose. "Young lady, what are you thinking? You can't just snub Mr. Sutton's people!"

Johanna was desperate. Leland had crossed the Ramsey family, and clinging to Kieran was their only hope. The last thing she wanted was to offend Kieran.

With a smile, Johanna opened the door wide and said to Jarrett, "Secretary Jarrett, Freya's being shy. Don't worry. I'll have her come with you!"

Listening to Johanna's shrewd words, Freya couldn't help but laugh. Johanna still owed her a considerable sum, yet she dared to offer Freya up to the Sutton family to plea on behalf of Leland. She was delusional.
