Clad in a simple white bathrobe, Kieran descended the stairs to find the fridge stocked with several simple dishes. However, he immediately knew they weren’t Freya’s cooking.
At that moment, his mind wandered back to when Freya stayed with the Sutton family, crafting varied and delicious meals thrice a day, fearing he might lose his appetite. Whether he ate or not often depended on his mood.
But it seemed like begging wouldn't even get Freya to cook! The thought made him lose his appetite and he wound up shutting the fridge door with a flick of his wrist.
Noticing the situation, Jarrett inquired, “Mr. Sutton, don’t these dishes suit your taste?”
“What do you think?” Kieran's mood was sour.
Jarrett was puzzled. That couldn't be right. Mr. Sutton always relished Linsey's cooking. What had changed so suddenly?
“Mr. Sutton, how about I order some takeout for you?”
“No need.” Frowning, Kieran asked, “Has Freya eaten anything tonight?”
“I don’t think so.”
“Call her down for dinner.”
“But...”
Jarrett intended to suggest Freya wasn’t likely hungry, but one look from Kieran made him ascend the stairs without further question.
Freya was still in her room, directing others in their tasks.
Jarrett approached and said, “Ms. Dawson, Mr. Sutton is calling you down for dinner.”
