"Ms. Dawson, these are just a bunch of trivial documents. I doubt they'll pique your interest. Why don't you head to the lounge and relax for a bit?" Galen offered with a strained smile.
The underlying message was clear. He preferred that Freya steer clear of any company matters.
Unfazed, Freya reached out her hand, demanding, "Let me have a look."
"This..."
Freya snapped, "Galen, are you under the impression that you're calling the shots in the Dawson Group now?"
Faced with Freya's assertiveness, Galen hurriedly replied, "How could I ever think that, Ms. Dawson? Of course, you're entitled to see anything you wish. It's just that I was worried you might find it confusing..."
Freya interrupted, "Never mind the lounge. Let's head to the CEO's office. And bring me all the documents that need signing."
"Ms. Dawson..."
Freya cut Galen off, her gaze shifting to Alison. "You're Alison, right? Fetch those for me, please. Galen, would you be so kind as to show me to the office?"
"Y-Yes, of course." Galen agreed verbally, but he was sweating bullets on the inside.
Galen wondered, ‘What in the world is Ms. Dawson doing here? If she unearthed any discrepancies in the accounts, I would be doomed!’
With a heavy heart, Galen led Freya to the CEO's office, previously her father's workspace, remembered for its modest and sophisticated decor.
However, under Johanna's direction, the office had become a caricature of its former self.
