The Bride Who Said No: Escaping the Shadows of Yesterday novel Chapter 207

Freya instinctively tried to pull her hand away, but Kieran wasn’t having any of it. Instead, he tightened his grip even more.

"Answer me."

Kieran propped himself up with one arm on the couch, closing the already minimal distance between him and Freya: "Who feels better to touch, them or me?"

Freya’s hand was soft, almost boneless, and holding it felt like the slightest pressure could hurt her.

Perhaps it was the alcohol talking, but Kieran suddenly felt an overwhelming urge to pin Freya down and have his way with her.

Feeling the scorching touch at her fingertips, Freya quickly withdrew her hand and slapped Kieran across the face, her expression darkening as she spat out, "Jerk!"

The slap was neither too light nor too heavy, but it left a red mark on Kieran’s face.

By the time Kieran came to his senses, Freya had already made her escape.

"What the hell was that? What did you just do?"

Outside, Silas saw Luna following Freya's lead and running away.

Kieran touched his cheek, his expression growing darker. "Tell the boss, I don’t ever want to see them again!"

Silas watched as Kieran stormed out of the room, completely baffled.

What just happened?

Luna was fuming, "Kieran is such a tyrant! He just doesn't want us to have any fun at all—and he even chased her away!"

Freya and Luna caught a cab.

Both had had a bit to drink, so driving was out of the question. Luna asked, "Reya, he didn’t do anything to you, did he?"

"Not really, it was just... weird."

Freya still remembered the warmth she felt when her fingertips brushed against his abdomen.
