The Bride Who Said No: Escaping the Shadows of Yesterday novel Chapter 211

Kieran halted Jarrett in his tracks.

Jarrett approached, saying, “Mr. Sutton, is there anything else you need?”

“How’s Freya doing today?”

“Ms. Dawson?” Upon hearing Kieran ask about Freya, Jarrett thought it over before replying, “She left early this morning. It didn’t seem like anything special.”

“She didn’t ask about me?”

“No, she didn’t. But she said she wouldn’t be home for dinner. She’ll be back late.”

Kieran’s expression darkened at the news.

He thought, ‘She won’t be home for dinner? Has she forgotten our date?’

Instinctively, Kieran reached for his phone to get to the bottom of it but remembered the scene from last night at Eclipse Lounge. He then told Jarrett, “Call Freya for me!”

“Yes, sir.” Jarrett quickly dialed Freya’s number.

The phone barely rang twice before it went through.

Freya’s voice came through. “ Jarrett, what’s up?”

Kieran immediately took the phone and put it on speaker.

Jarrett cleared his throat and said, “Ms. Dawson, have you finished classes? I can send a driver to pick you up.”

“Yeah. Class is over, but I’ve got things to handle. Don’t worry about me.”

“Whose call is this?” A sudden voice came through the phone.

Outside the office, Eloise was there to see Kieran off from work as usual. When she entered, she saw Kieran taking his coat from the hanger, ready to leave. She approached him, “Kieran, where are you off to?”

Kieran turned and saw Eloise dressed casually in jeans and a white shirt, a style she had never worn before. The sight of Eloise in an outfit similar to Freya's made Kieran frown.

Eloise also seemed uneasy. “Kieran... why are you looking at me like that?”

“Ellie, that style doesn’t suit you.” With that, Kieran left the office.

Eloise’s face turned pale, suddenly feeling weak in her knees.

With his sharp eyes, Kieran understood what her choice of clothes meant.

A bitter smile crept onto Eloise’s lips. She thought sadly, ‘Kieran has indeed fallen for Freya.’
