Alison was enlightened. "So, Ms. Dawson, you're playing dumb to catch the wise, right?"
"Yes." Freya nodded without hesitation before adding, "Let's not tip them off yet. We need to gather evidence slowly. Their embezzlement is harming the shareholders' interests. Once we have enough proof and have cut off their influence in the company, it'll be time for their downfall."
Alison stared at Freya and said, "Ms. Dawson... you seem different from before."
The Freya she knew was gentle, wise, and clever but never dabbled in such corporate maneuvers. But what Freya had just outlined made perfect sense. Alison couldn't help but admire her.
Freya turned to Alison, "Alison, you've been with the company for years now, and my father has supported you in the past. I hope you can help me."
"I'll stand by you, Ms. Dawson. I won't let them ruin what Mr. Gavin Dawson left behind."
Freya nodded. "Thank you."
"But..." Alison hesitated, then continued, "Though Galen tends to exaggerate, the Sutton Group has been attacking our Dawson Group non-stop, especially today."
"Today?"
Alison nodded, explaining, "Today, the Sutton Group pulled the funding from several of our projects. We're now running low on funds, practically treading water. The finance department has begun auditing, and we only have enough to last us another week."
A week... Freya scoffed. ‘It looks like Kieran is trying to avenge Eloise and make me give in.’
"Speaking of funds, I'm considering taking out a loan from the bank."
Alison frowned, "A loan? That's risky. I wouldn't recommend it."
Freya was determined. "Find a way to secure a loan of five hundred million to cover the real estate project Kieran pulled out of. I'll handle the fundraising for the rest."
Alison doubted it. "Ms. Dawson, that's five hundred million. The bank might not agree, and we need funding for other projects too."
Kieran scoffed coldly, "Truly a clueless heiress who only knows how to splurge. Fine. If she won't yield, I won't hold back. Let's make her realize the consequences of crossing me."
"But Mr. Sutton, Mrs. Sutton won't be pleased..."
Kieran glanced coldly at Jarrett, "Freya should have known the consequences of her actions against Ellie. I'm already being lenient, for Grandma's sake."
"Yes, Mr. Sutton."
As Jarrett exited, Kieran suddenly called out, "Wait!"
"Mr. Sutton, anything else?"
"If Freya comes to see me, tell her I'm busy."
