The Bride Who Said No: Escaping the Shadows of Yesterday novel Chapter 255

"Fine! You said it, not me. Who the heck needs your affection anyway?"

Kieran turned to leave, but a wave of irritation washed over him. Turning back to Freya, he snapped, "In Echo City, all I need to do is lift a finger, and a line of women will be waiting to marry me. I don't need you, Freya. There will be others. You're not irreplaceable."

"I figured that out long ago, Mr. Sutton. You don’t need to remind me every single time, right?" Freya rolled her eyes, thinking Kieran was too full of himself.

Seeing Freya's indifferent attitude added to Kieran’s frustration, leaving him storm out.

Outside, fearing a confrontation, Jarrett had waited anxiously by the door.

"Mr. Sutton, about Ms. Miller..."

"Grandma seemed to like Flavia, right? Let's go with her then." Kieran's tone was icy.

Jarrett looked up in disbelief. "Choose Ms. Miller? But what about Ms. Harwood..."

Ms. Harwood would be devastated if she discovered Kieran had moved on so quickly.

"Enough. Just do as I say." Kieran was running out of patience.

Why did he always end up so agitated after seeing Freya? Was she his jinx?

Inside, Freya let out a sigh of relief once Kieran had left.

Thankfully, she had quickly hidden the documents Ronan had given her. She'd be doomed if Kieran, the paranoid skeptic, had seen them.

From the outside, Nancy knocked, "Ms. Dawson, it's me."

"Come in." Freya casually threw on a robe.
